:sad2: I feel sorry for the crew. I know they choose to work there but 7 days a week, 14-18 hour days... I don't know how they do it!

I don't know how they do it either and keep smiling about it. Then they go down to those tiny cabins they have -ugh. They are like indentured servants - slave wages.

Well, it certainly looks like SPH 5520 has a clean chain of custody!! We'll try to keep it that way! Thanks for starting that chain, Sharon,! And YES consider the SPH "in the tour"!! Jennifer, we'll promise to be good neighbors - and it's great to know who's next door before even boarding!! Andy, I have to echo everyone else - what a great anniversary surprise for your wife - very cool.:cool1:

That's right, it was for their anniversary, but he thought about telling her for her birthday, right? (or did I dream that?) Let me just go edit my post. :tiptoe: :ssst: ;)

I haven't decided yet when I am telling Hazel about the 5 day, her birthday was one of the options since it is coming up soon. The only thing is, Hazel will be away the weekend of her birthday. Angelina and I have nearly slipped a couple of times already. :rotfl:

Angelina said she wants to have the video camera rolling when I break the news. :woohoo:

Of course, if I know Hazel, like I think I do, there will be a lot of screaming and jumping up and down going on!!! :yay:  :yay:

That would be a great idea! Then save the rest of that tape and let it be the beginning of the video that you make of your anniversary cruise. :goodvibes

OH my is everyone chatty tonight!! We watch one show and bam.... lots of pages! I am excited about the party in our room.. I will bring the Rosa Regale, or the wine of Tracy's choice.
Jennifer, Pete says to tell you that Plymoth has grown much in the last few years. Major development at Jordan hospital!
Andy... I want you to post the video of Hazel finding out about her present... that would be great!!!
Marsha.. many prayers for Tom that you will be able to join us.

Thanks to all the people who are offering up their staterooms for tours! We have done this once and it was great to see all the different rooms. We are usually in a Cat 11, so we enjoy all the nice rooms!
Ok.. off to watch the next Friday night show... Jenn

Williamsburg is sooooooo beautiful with all those big trees. Lucky you. We visited Historic Williamsburg a couple of years ago. The kids had a blast. DH got DS6 a Colonial hat and DD4 a bonnet to wear. They looked so cute. Sorry the photo is so small. That is as large as I am allowed to post I guess.

Yes I feel lucky to live here it is a great place to raise children. Your kids are soooo cute!:cutie:

Count 2 more in (maybe 4). Hello from the frigid cold IOWA! I hope this doesn't get us off to an unpopular start, but we are the occupants of the SPH cabin 5520. (No tomatoes, please!). We've actually had the room before on a previous DCL cruise and I was able to snag it late last night. Don't know why winotracy would give up this room for THE ROY SUITE !!!! LOL. Anyway, I'm Lacy, 50 and in management at a large corporation and am bringing DH Terry 46 who's self-employed home remodeling. Our 21 and 19 year old girl and boy will not be joining us - they'll be at school. We're also booked on the Westbound Panama Canal.

Our friends may be booking later tonight and I'll get them added to this great list/thread. Thanks so much to all of you for getting this going!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to getting to know ya all before the cruise - and am hoping for an invite to the ROY SUITE wine/cheese party (hint, hint :) :) )

Welcome!!:grouphug:

:welcome: Welcome neighbor. . . we are in SPH staterooms 5024 and 5022(connecting)

:tinker: Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. We had both those rooms on the Western Oct. 7-14 cruise last year. DH and I surprised our 3 boys with that cruise. The boys thought we were doing a tour of the ship for the afternoon.:rotfl2: After lunch at topsiders, we went to the stack and the CM almost gave it away when she was checking off their names. :scared1: I got her attention about what we were doing and she recovered well.

After that I went to 5024 to make sure that the basket I had ordered from Shirley for our twins 14th birthday, was in the room. It was and I put up a few more decorations. The I found my DH and DS's and said we could look at a stateroom. They were excited so off we went to 5024.

The twins saw the birthday basket was for them and was surprised that I was able to get that on board without them seeing it, but they still weren't getting the real surprise.:lmao: Finally I had to yell out "WE'RE NOT GETTING OFF THE SHIP!!!" They were so shocked and dumfounded that it took them awhile to get excited.:dance3: Our other son said "I'm not going to believe it till the ship sails and I'm still on it.":sad2: To make a longer story short this was the biggest surprise the boys ever had and they are still surprised that we were able to pull it off.:cool1: Needless to say they had a blast!

Oh yeah my DH doesn't yet know I've booked this cruise. I plan to surprise him for his September 08 birthday, of course the surprise won't be as grandiose as it was for the boys. We'll never be able to pull that off again.

You are going to love 5024 and 5022 we certainly enjoyed them!

Hi Everyone. We will be joining you on this cruise. We are also doing the EB repo right before this one...so we get to stay on.
Our party includes Paula (42), Alan (45) and Adam (18). (Ages now). Alan and I are self employed. I love to scrapbook in my free time. Alan loves UK basketball and football and working in the yard. Adam plays HS football, XBox and loves to fish and shoot. We are booked in 7509.
We are also going to be on the Magic WC 4/7 and I hope to rebook this on board for the discount and OBC. Here's hoping it will be worthwhile.

Wow,
I hope this sorta thing is not Catchy!!!

See ya onboard...

What we have done in the past is booked a room now! If the price of the cruise should rise, we then would have the lower price and have them apply the onboard credit to that reservation!
Last time we did this, price of the cruise did rise making only a $30.00 difference in between the one we had booked and the 10% discount..

Then when that is all set we transfer it over to a TA and get any other offers available.

I plan on rebooking too. So you are saying that if the price goes up they may let me have the OBC on this reservation? :confused3 (sorry if I am wrong) thanks for any info!

It depends!! sometimes in the past they have done that!
Sometimes NOT!

Most times we end up with 2 reservations!

Then our Ta takes care of it from there!
Switching the onboard credit reservation to the lower reservation.

The onboard booking Agent will tell you Sorry you have to have your ta do that!

So if you dont mind DCL having and extra deposit for a few days you are all set.

What he is saying is if you get a booking now and then check when you are onboard, you need to weigh the price it is then versus now and take into account your 10% and OBC that you will get.

His last cruise when up $30 from when he booked it so by booking onboard, he saved 10% (off of the higher price) and got the OBC so in the end saved more than the $30 increase.

Makes sense?

If the price is the same and you rebook onboard, even better :thumbsup2

Edited to add: I guess that's not what he was thinking :)

yes I assumed the price probably did not get lowered even if you are fewer days onboard (for the Rainforest). Is the price the same on the Wonder?

Saugerties - is exit 20 on the thruway - Ulster County. Home of the largest garlic festival in the world - if anyone is looking for a road trip.

elaine

Yes, the price is the same no matter what ship or length of cruise.

I have a better idea of where you are now. I've often read about the Garlic Fest but have never gone to it.

Welcome to all the recent additions to our merry band of marauders.:yay:

I loved the stateroom tour we had on the May '05 Panama Canal cruise. It was so cool to see the different categories, especially the sideways cabins.

Let's see, Wine tasting and stateroom tour are already in the works. Can't wait to see what all is planned over the next 18 months. :disrocks:
