Speaking of water - where do you carry it?

Do you have a water pouch on your backpack, get one of those separate water bottle sports holder things, just throw the bottle in the backpack main compartment?

I have a brita bottle which has a sports tops.. I am always worried by throwing them into a backpack they would spill by accident...

my first thought was - the stroller

and then I realized you probably don't have one - there's an advantage to taking the kids and stroller - no concern about carrying things!!

my in-laws hike and they have a fanny pack they can put a bottle of water in - not sure where to get it though

I have an insulated water bottle cooler that I can either hang on my backpack or has a strap for hanging on my shoulder. Or I make my DD's carry it.

i use my bottle strap from AK. DH makes fun of me for it...
DH likes to hold his soda in his cargo pockets.
I swear - the man carries more in his cargo shorts then I do in my purse!

My DW and I use our bottle straps from Epcot. Unless you're carrying a HUGE bottle they are fine. Refill as you go.

Did I mention 30 days????

I carry it inside me!! I would rather pay a couple bucks for a small, cold water, when I need some, then lug tempid bottles of water around with me all day. That is just me, I guess and I do know how expensive that bottled water is but I don't get that much so it is worth the reduced hastle to me.

I drink sodas or iced tea with my meals, have ice cream and Dole floats (when in MK) so carrying water just seems more work then it is worth. To each his own.

I take a 1/2 inch wide by 5-inch long piece of elastic with me and tie a loop onto the strap of my fanny pack. The brita bottle slips nicely through the tight loop and it catches at the indented area of the bottle. Very easy and convenient.

We have a lumbar pack from LL Bean that has a spots for two bottles of water. Just took it on a test drive in NYC and it works great. Holds enough stuff for just and is less of a hassle than a packback.

I'm starting to wonder if I should just drink the tap water.

you'll do that once...then find the nearest vendor and pony up the $2 for a bottle of water! I, personally, dont' like the taste of florida tap water. But to each their own.

I buy, maybe (depending on the weather), 3-5 bottles of water throughout the day while at WDW. Yes, that could get up to $10 in water...but so be it. I drink at least 4-5 bottles of water a day here at work (one bottle that I keep refilling) but I, personally, need to stay hydrated like that. When you are used to drinking THAT much water a day...you definetly feel a difference when you go without.

It just sounds like camera, water, and backpack are a lot to carry... From what it sounds like most people carry these items separately rather than one bag.

If you don't have kids, chances are you won't need a backpack. Take a small camera case that will clip onto your belt - most have pockets for a few essentials. Then use the water strap, or buy an insulated water bottle carrier (I got mine from AK last year). It's really not a lot!

If you don't want to carry the camera, you can always take advantage of PhotoPass.

I keep mine in a backpack that has an outside pocket.
I sometimes forget it. But I found out that any place at WDW will give you , FREE, a cup of ice. I can then fill the glass with tap water. Some how it isn't as bad tasting to me if it is very cold. I also have several of the small collasping cups that fit in a pocket. If I remember I take them and have several family members carry them around. They are $1-$2 max at most stores. They have come in very handy when we have a family member who might have a cold, and we don't wish to share a bottle with them.

When I was looking for new hiking/mini backpacks for the kids I specifically looked for ones with a mesh water bottle holder on the side. I haven't tested them out yet but hope they work out for us.

If I were taking a trip without my kids, I doubt I'd even bring a backpack. I'd buy one or 2 bottles of water a day, and drink a soda with my meals. I'd probably bring my fanny pack to hold my tiny digital camera, tickets, and money (I can only bring myself to wear a fanny pack at WDW!). But that would be it.

The great thing about an adult trip (IMHO) would be the freedom to hurry & hop on a bus, monorail, boat or whatever - go back to your resort, get what you need & head back to wherever you want to go. With kids it's a MUCH bigger production.

Don't sweat the small details - you're gonna have a GREAT time, whether you have to carry your water bottle or not.

We are two adults, and never bring a backpack. Occasionally I will wear a fanny pack if it looks rainy, or I want to bring the camera, but otherwise, it's just the brita water bottle. They sell a water bottle in a blue neoprene holder with a strap at many stores in WDW. I purchased this, threw away the bottle and put my brita in it. It stretches and fits it nicely. I get ice thoughout the day, throw the strap over my shoulder, and I'm good. My husband usually wears shorts with cargo pockets to carry granola bars, and a small camera, so we bypass the security line, and are free to roam, hands-free.

Since my family goes to Disney in July, we usually bring a backpack filled with bottles of frozen water. It's always gone in less than two hours, so we do end up buying bottles of water during the rest of the day. It gets very expensive, but at least we save a little money by bringing some water.

In January, I took one of those small multipurpose zip ties (like plumbers and carpenters use to bundle things together), put it through the key ring of a carbinger clip, then zipped it tight around the indented part of the top of my Brita bottle. Then using the carbinger clip, the bottle was easy to clip on and off to a strap on my backpack or fanny pack (depending on which I was wearing that day). For my trip in two weeks I bought a Baggalini bag that has a mesh pocket on the side for the bottle. It is a very snug fit, but I've placed the Brita bottle in there right after I got it, left it, and am hoping it stretches a bit more. If it doesn't and is too tight, then I've bought an insulated water bottle carrier at Nutztogo.com. The straps will come off. I'll put the water bottle in it and just use the same mutipurpose tie/carbinger clip set up I used in January to clip it to my Baggalini bag, since I don't want to deal with the long straps.

Then again the bottle carrier has a small pocket on the front if it, that's the perfect size for AP, DDE card, CC, and a little cash, so I may leave the straps on it to wear around my neck and then just carry a very small messenger bag that I have for my cell phone and camera. The messenger bag I won on e-bay by the way, from a seller in England and it's really nice. It's very small (about 8"x7"), but has four zippered pockets on it--one big center one, then two on each side. I can put my camera in the center pocket, my cell phone in one of the larger outside pockets and still have three pockets left over.
