I was on line at my local CVS store when the cashier piped up a conversation with a young man who came up beside me. He started asking him what was he working on now and the young man said he was working on a movie I had heard of that's due to be released next year. I looked over to see his face then and the face was soooo familiar!

I asked "where do I know you from??"

He replied quite shyly, maybe "the Smart Guy?"

that's him in the back!

The Smart Guy is syndicated on the Disney Channel and my son LOVES that show. The young man standing there played the older son on the show. He told me his name was Jason Weaver and had to be the most polite, humble (and ADORABLE)young man I had ever met!

He also mentioned that he did the voice of Simba in the song "I Can't Wait to be King" on the Lion King soundtrack and had performed in the Lion King on Broadway. In fact, when Simba sang, it was him!

The cashier couldn't help but to tell me that he played Michael Jackson in The Jackson's: An American Dream, also! He sort of had a whispery Michael Jackson kind of voice, also.

He was a DELIGHT to speak to and the whole time I was talking to him I was thinking " I can't WAIT to add this to the "What nice celebrities have you met?" thread!....

But since it was GONE I decided to add my own!

That's so cool Robin...my son loves this show too! He's also loving the reruns of Sister/Sister and Boy Meets World. Of course he thinks they're brand new shows!

Is he the one that plays Taj Mowry's older brother? (All I see is a red x:( ). My kids LOVE that show.:)

Too cool, Robin.:)

It is nice to hear a good celeb story. He is very cute. I remember him playing Michael Jackson. He is very taleneted.

That young man just won over my heart.:teeth:

Its always nice when celebrities turn out to be really nice in person :)

I've met Paul Newman, Michael J Fox, Timothy Hutton, Ben Stiller and his mother Anne Meara (he was a kid at the time, and unknown.lol), the brunette from Cagney and Lacey(Yikes, forget her name now.lol)... I've met others too but I'm drawing a blank. lol Oh, and I went to high school with John Bongiovi AKA Bon Jovi... Cute kid! :)

My father was a theatrical teamster in NYC while I was growing up, that's how I met them all (except Bonjovi). I've been to several rap parties and went to work with my father once in a while to watch them film. :)

Seaspray! How you could forget Tyne Daly?? BTW, I met her ex George Stanford Brown. He directed a segment when I was working for HBO. Niiiiiiiice guy!

Shannon, I'm sorry you don't see the picture. Yes, he played Marcus, the "dumber" older brother. In fact, I was sort of glad Michael wasn't there because he would've never left him alone.

Catsrule, I KNEW that connection to Simba would get ya! :teeth:

Such a nice experience. If only all celebs can leave us with such a good feeling! When we parted he hugged me and said "God bless you, ma'am!" You KNOW he captured my heart!

That is so cool, Robin! :) I remember when he was on the show Thea. I used to love that show! :) I've seen him on Smart Guy & saw him play a young MJ. :)

I can see the pic now, Robin.:) I was at work yesterday (that firewall gets on my nerves sometimes). Marcus cracks me up on that show.:) I bet he's a very nice celeb.:) Sara would've drove him crazy too if she'd been there!:)

You've got a great job Robin! You get to meet so many interesting people.:)

That is way cool Robin. Isn't it nice to meet a young man that people recognize that is still a polite, humble person? He sounds like a real gentleman.

How neat! And how wonderful that he was so polite to you. :teeth:
