Hi guys :goodvibes

We fly on Saturday and want to take a spare bag to bring any goodies back with us. On a few previous trips we have bought a couple of big Adidas roller holdalls whilst out there but we don't want to buy another one. We want to take one of the ones we have with us but it is too bulky to fit in our cases.

Odd question but would we be better to spread our stuff out and use the holdall on the way out too or can we take the holdall empty? DH seems to think that this might look a bit 'dodgy'??! :confused3 :lmao:

We are flying PE so don't have to pay for the extra luggage, what would you do?

TIA,

Ali :goodvibes

We usually take a case within a case. Personally, I wouldn't take an empty holdall as luggage - either put it inside your suitcase or pack some stuff in it and take it separately.

As wilma said either split the bags or put one inside another. Im paying for the extra bag but as we take 4 soft large bags with wheels even rammed to the brim with yankee candles etc the heaviest was 19kg. Hence why I dont use cases anymore as my one case weighs 4 kg before anythings put in. I saw a few being over charged last time i went so the £32 is worth it.

I would rather put my things in the holdall and go with an half empty suitcase than a full suitcase and an empty holdall.

The suitcase will keep its shape even if it's empty. the holdall will collapse onto itself if it's empty.

I would feel safer that way (with the conveyors and handling in mind)

This

I pack into slightly smaller cases that will fit into bigger ones and we travel out like that and then bring the extra bags home. I prepaid the extra luggage last year online and it wasn't too expensive at all.

I'd put the holdall into a suitcase or one of the other bags - or put a smaller bag into the holdall. I want to carry as few items as possible through the airport

Thank you for all the replies :goodvibes

I really don't think we will have space to squeeze the holdall we want to take into any of the cases so it seems the best plan will be to spread our stuff out and put some gear into the holdall :thumbsup2 Also our four cases are all identical in size so can't put one inside another. I will definitely bear this in mind when we replace our current cases ;)

I really wish I could master this 'travelling/packing light' lark but it's clearly never going to happen :lmao:

Thanks again,

Ali :goodvibes
