Morocco is one of my favorite places at all of WDW. It is just so intricate and detailed. Plus, alot of little nooks and cranies to dig around. I'm afraid a ride would "interrupt" the personality of this country.

Upon thinking about it, I agree about Morocco. Its one of our favorite areas as well (BTW, the little tour they offer every hour is worth taking, lots of good information). They would have a hard time fitting a ride in there that wouldn't destroy the atmosphere.

Wasn't China slated to receive some for of boat ride originally that was later cut? France could also use something besides their movie.

I, too, agree that Morocco is charming as it is. It does seem to be one of the best kept secrets of the WS. But I think an attraction of some sort would only enhance that. A peaceful, informative ride (similiar to the boat ride in Mexico) would be a great way to learn about the country.
Not every country is suited for a "thrill" ride, so any sort of ride/attraction would be a benefit. Where do the crowd's head first when the rope drops?? Norway, of course. That should be the tip off.

As long as there is a booth that sells a good Rioja, they can design it any way they like. :teeth:

They should have put the Aladdin ride from the MK into Morocco instead. The theming would have fit very well.

th e aladdin ride would have fit there nicely and made ws more kid friendley

ok ok ok in the back of morrocco to not mess up ws at night

OK Disneykidds, in the corner. Time out buddy. You need to really think about what you just said. When you're ready to apologize you can come out. :)

Rather than Spain, i would much perfer a country like Egypt. Their is so much material to work with. And a dark ride would be great, but a boring boat ride would be a waste of time as wdw has more than enough of those. A excellant dark ride of Egpyt using Indy Jones type technology would be great and would attract all different types of people. But since wdw would have to pay for it, it wont happen and they seem unlikely to pay for much of anything, if memory is right haven they had problems with Canada about paying for a new movie??? If they quibble about something like that i find it hard to believe at this point they will ante up the money for a new country!!

Since, the way Disney gets countries to participate in Epcot makes for very little activity I would say we should be excited that ANY country is interested! Spain will do fine for me.

Spain was considered shortly after opening and concept drawings showing a fort were produced.

Israel and Equitorial Africa were also on the original list.

Hey.....MORE dark rides PLEASE!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

If Disney is going to do Spain, then PLEASE do the expensive option with the cool boat ride.

People go to Disney for the cool dark rides. Thrill rides are nice, but why not both???

Epcot taking out Horizons and World of Motion was a huge mistake. WE need a ride like Sinbad at Epcot.

If you want roller coasters with no theme then go to Universal Studios or Six Flags. If you want magic and imagination "cool" themed dark rides, then go to Disney!!!!

The silent majority agrees with ME!!!

I couldn't agree more! Putting themed dark rides into the countries is a great way to bring everyone in. I guess I'm part of that silent majority! I hated seeing World of Motion and Horizons disappear.

I finally have to enter the fray... With just a couple thoughts.

First to Scoop and Mr. Kidds:
My very first official complete and total disagreement with DisneyKidds...geez between this and Baron kind of agreeing with me on the resort pools...ugh...wires are being crossed! Fire danger!....
Guess what Scoop? We agree again!! (Louie, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship!*) Aladdin doesn't belong anywhere in WDW!! Outragous statement? No!! The way they decorated it, as opposed to themed it, the only place it could possible 'fit' is in Fantasyland. But they've already got a spinner!!

King Triton - Your Majesty!!

Yeah well, the VOCAL minority (me) wholeheartedly agrees as well!!! For the life of me, I can't understand the thinking of those who do not!!!

* obscure (well not so obscure, I suppose) movie quote. ;)

I always say "Another beer is a good thing" but to be honest I am holding out for singha rather than san miguel - I'm sure whatever they add will be a tourist friendly and very approachable pilsner or lager anyway.

Believe it when I drink it-

Epcot taking out Horizons and WOM was a great decision as those attractions outlived their usefulness which showed by thier walk on status, which isnt the case with TT and is unlikely to be the case with Mission Space. So the lovers of those rides were the silent and small minority!!!! And i wouldnt put a coaster in Epcot but you can make excellant themed coasters as wdw and other parks have done and they will easily draw bigger crowds than the earlier mentioned rides above, as would any well done thrill attraction.

I'm tired of being the silent majority...but I certainly agree!!!

Baron - * Trading Places?

Don' get too excited over your budding relationship with Mr. Scoop - everyone should agree with what Scoop said ;).

As to Aladdin in Morocco.................

I am frightened that that comment didn't meet with more vehement disapproval . I was only playing - Aladdin doesn't belong in Morocco - but I'm ok with it in MK. Can I come out of the corner Mr. Curling? I'm sorry, I really am :p.

Now if they had it as an indoor ride in the back of Morocco, with a childrens bazaar and two stories inside with Arabian guards all about trying to catch Aladdin and the carpets - reminiscent of the 'One Step' sequnce in the film................... no, no, don't go there - you were just kidding (DK says to self ;)).

Given the historical links between Spain and America I think Spain would be an excellent choice of country for WS. There are a few choices for rides if, hopefully, they choose to put one in, but the history, produce, food and drink of Spain would work well.

Having just returned from a week on the loverly Spanish Island of Majorca I do hope they make sure they work to US standards of service not the sometimes non existant Spanish ones though LOL.
