How long is the ride for Spaceship earth? Epcot opens at 8am the day I m going and I have an 8:30 ADR at Akershus, so was wondering if we could rope drop and ride SE before we ran over to Akershus

It's roughly 15 minutes. Gauge the standby line before deciding to ride or not as SE is incredibly popular at RD since it's the first attraction people see.

It's about a 15 minute ride. Longer if it breaks down. Last time we rode it, it stopped about 4 times . Even if it doesn't stop and you are able to get directly on the ride, you will SHOULD HAVE 10 to 15 min to make your reservation. Seems a little rushed to me. I would do the ride later.

I think I would skip SE if you have an 8:30 ADR at Akershus. It takes time to get to Norway, and you can check in early. I would head to the WC, admire the countries without a crowd, check in as son as I got there, and hope we were seated early.

I know that you are not asking for touring advice, but I just cannot help myself. There is a lot more to Epcot than attractions, and if you beat feet from one place to another, trying to maximize time to get in an attraction before a FP or an ADR, you are going to miss a lot of what makes Epcot so special. The WC is stunning, and that walk from the entrance of FW to Norway in the early morning is lovely. There are plenty of places to get a picture of your family in places that usually have a lot of people in the way. There are views that are gorgeous and because the walk is so quiet, you can really enjoy them. An early Mornign ADR in the WC is pretty nice, so walk right by SE, enjoy the stroll to Norway, and book a FP for SE later on. The FP options tithe the tiers in Epcot are pretty ratty right now anyway.

Head straight to breakfast. Ride spaceship earth later in the day. Line is short later in the day. Truthfully, with the tiered FP system at Epcot Spaceship earth is usually one of my FP choices

Mine as well.

It's definitely not the type of ride where you are in and out quickly. I would ride it later, restaurant is night next door either.

As a note, a stoppage on SE does not necessarily (or often) mean breakdown. They have to stop it for people to transfer from chairs/scooters.

I crack up every time I see the "just because you see it first doesn't mean you have to ride it first" thing because once my dad led a church family trip and gave that speech on the bus. We were always the last family off because he had to give out the tickets to everyone.

Well, where did WE head first?

Yep. Spaceship Earth.

And yes, we got busted. And Daddy got teased for telling everyone that so the line would be shorter for us. (It just happened the line WAS pretty short relatively speaking, so we did it then.)

Actually I have a rule about not passing SE without riding it... at least the first epcot day. That being said, I would still go straight to Norway.

As well I agree to head to Akershus.....( Not a big fan of that place but nonetheless ) SE usually around lunch time is always slow.....be careful because early afternoon it's starts getting packed & the usually expand the maze queue.

I am well aware of WS - love it! Was just trying to see how I could maximize my time since it was AM EMH. That ADR was the only one available so I took it. This will be my friends first time at Disney so was trying to see what we could do. We are going to EPCOT 2 days so was going to FP Illuminations one day and Test Track the other for the Tier 1 selections, It will probably be better to stop for the photos and maybe check out a few topiaries on the way over and not rush. Thanks everyone!

So would I. Especially since Spaceship Earth exits you into a room filled with games, and there's an interactive virtual postcard that you set up during the ride, & can email to yourself or someone else after the ride. You'll miss all of that if you're in a rush to go to breakfast.

I recommend getting a FP for Spaceship Earth after breakfast, and hitting Living with the Land at rope drop before breakfast.

Not sure what you mean by "WC", but I do know that is a British term for a restroom.
