Spaceship Earth

Does Spaceship Earth still stay open so you can catch it after Illuminations or does it shut down when the fireworks start? I remember seeing Illuminations and seeing Spaceship Earth on the way out.

It will be open only if there's night time EMH at EPCOT. Otherwise the Park closes at 9pm when Illuminations starts.

Spaceship Earth will be lit outside for a quite a while after Illuminations. However, the attraction inside is closed unless there is an Extra Magic Hours event. Having Spaceship Earth lit up outside is just such a special way to exit Epcot after Illuminations. It's like a beacon wishing you a good night and to thank you for being there. And, Disney's not stupid - it's showing you the way out of the park (yes, there is the International Gateway but that came after the opening of the park).
