Spaceship Earth?

Such a relaxing ride, i really like it. I have even been none to fall asleep for a few mins when it goes backwards.

Definitely a great ride, it's interesting, entertaining and AIR CONDITIONED!! :)

I LOVE Spaceship Earth, it's definitely an Epcot favorite of mine. I hope it stays that way forever! Plus, I really love the naration. I really hope they don't change the narration (ya know, like they did with the monorail naration :crazy2: ), it's fine the way it is!

It's good, but I shake my head when I see 2 hour waits for it! Wait till closer to the end of the day and the lines are usually very fast. People usually walk to it as their first ride and wait forever for it. Don't miss it, but don't stand in line for hours.

My DH and joke about it because he always falls asleep on the ride, so it's good naptime for him...
Same thing happens to a certain person in our party...we call it Nap-ship Earth, maybe Sleep-ship Earth...Space-Sleep Earth.....Space-Nap Earth....

Anyway, I agree with all the positives I've read on this thread; we like this ride and its a good fit during the middle of the day. :thumbsup2

Last time I went to Epcot, Sept. 03, I rode Spaceship Earth "one last time" because I fell for the stupid rumor about it being converted into a rollercoaster.

I was genuinely sad riding it for the last time because I remebered riding it countless times since I was a kid.

That was the 1st and last rumor concerning WDW that I actually believed. I still feel like a ******* for believing it.

I love Spaceship Earth, this is a must do for me every trip.
I especially like the smells in the various areas we see. especially the smell of Rome burning (I think that is because I took Latin for 4 years, and the fear of the teacher still haunts me)

You must be thinking about something else. Spaceship Earth hasn't ever had a two hour wait in its history. It is a continuously moving ride the line never stops. You might be thinking about Mission Space or maybe Sourin'. Spaceship Earth is the big ball as you first walk into Epcot.

:confused3 :confused3

spaceship earth is a great ride. i always try to ride that one when i first get into epcot because it really sets the stage for what a great park it is.

The story of human civilization, inside a unique structure, what's not to like?
If that's not good enough for you, you're in the wrong park. It's the best slow ride Disney has ever made.

"A vault containing Earthly treasure,
A few calm minutes safe from weather.
The path is dark, the fire is hot.
Tear it down?! Well I think not!
Above the others it stands so tall.
The hand of a mouse, the tale of us all."

we love spaceship earth. so much so that on our short weekend trip to disney we are just planning to go to animal kingdom and magic kingdom but i think we will make a stop to epcot just so we all can ride spaceship earth :cloud9:

:teeth:the smell of Rome burning always puts me in the mood for RIBS at Smokey Bones!!!!

Yes,it's a good ride. I wouldn't want to wait in a long line for it, but I've enjoyed it every time I've gone on it. It's a nice air conditioned break if it's hot. Last time we were on it it broke down and we had to walk out - I got lots of great pictures!

I love this ride as well! Definately one of my favorites, and guarenteed to put a smile on my face. I never miss it! :teeth:

Spaceship Earth is a great ride - one of those classic Disney rides that you saw on the Disney channel when you were a kid (at least for me as a child of the 80s). Plus it's in the big Epcot sphere, and it's cool to think that you're actually inside such a famous structure. We didn't have to wait at all, walked right in and got in a car, it must have been <5 minutes total. I do think the line is a little longer right at park opening, because it's one of the first rides you encounter as you go in the park entrance.

Lots of Disney trivia in this one, too - there's a hidden Mickey on one of the books a scribe is writing in the Renaissance scene, and a couple of the audioanimatronic characters actually use the same facial molds as some of the presidents in the Hall of Presidents (in ancient Egypt, the big bald guy is actually President Taft!) :teacher:

well, not my favorite, but it was ok. The kind of ride you should do at least once and its good for relaxing. There are a lot worse things you could do or waste your time with. ..like Mission Space.

I will say the only smell I recall was old and musty smell. I figured the attraction was so old hence the odor.
I will say i have only done it once, but then again i have only been to Disney once since it was even built!

I echo everything positive said here. I love the ride! It represents what Walt envisioned as educational rides many years ago. Plus it's cool. It gives you a good 20 minutes to rest your feet, cool down and just relax among the ages. And it's the first place I found a Hidden Mickey!!

I try and ride it a few times cause like what others have said - usually no lines and a big capacity.

Definitely pencil it in!!!
