Spaceship Earth-Deathstar?

This is faux outrage...

Who cares if they project Star Wars onto it for a few weeks? It's not like they still do the Christmas lights in the park...this is the worlds biggest franchise and it looks cool.

They can play projector games to their heart's content...

I totally misunderstood the story, i presumed they were changing the attraction to a Star Wars attraction haha! The projections on the Great Movie Ride theatre are awesome!

If they said they were changing Spaceship Earth to a Star Wars Attraction ..........
............ with the outside to look like the Deathstar .......
............ the internet would have blown up and then broke.

Our screens would look like this ..........

This has been the funniest, best post of the day...thank you a million times thank you HopperFan. I LOL for over a minute...

It's a good chuckle...

What's funny is the concept that they were gutting the ball and making it Star Wars "like that" got any legs...

That thing was an engineering feat that took round the clock effort for like 2 solid years to build...

At the current miserly construction pace of the billion dollar behemoth TWDC...it would take them 16 years to even scratch the surface on a redo...pretty amusing

Pretty clear that none of those people on stage really wanted to be there. At one point the guy on the right said something like "This is never going to happen again." Because it sucked. Those poor women anchoring the show had a look of "this is so not a thing" on their faces.

This truly felt like the laziest attempt at promotion. The bonus scene was short and barely anything more then what was already in the trailers. The scripting/pacing was also quite painful. I felt sorry for Mads being dragged to this event.

I'm not sure how many guests were at the event but I felt with effort they could of created an impact. Imagine the imperial officer coming out and chiding the crowd for it's unlawful gathering. I assume they did this at the world showcase entrance way. Using that they could have storm trooper battalions emerge from the two stores and surround the crowd. The officer would then tell the audience to watch their step for the might of the Empire is unmatched. Here the Death Star would raise above the "horizon". The visual didn't show up well on the stream but brightening the visuals could be needed. I would love if they could reuse the dragon glider trick with a squadron of TIE fighters. Then the storm troopers file away. To go further Mon Mothma or another rebel personality could appear on screen calling for support.

I also think the creative director they had on could of done a better job with his presentation. He seemed to just read of a list. I wish especially with the Star Tours announcement was done as an advertisement for Star Tours to add some flavor.

Disney parks live streams suck, plain and simple.

Was that a hard ticket event for people? I thought that could have been much cooler...

It was a Disney parks blog meet up. You had to sign up and then if you got an invitation after you signed up you got to go. The event itself was free for invited guests to attend.
