This may be old news, but I heard a rumor that SE space was being considered as the new home for a rollercoaster inside the Geosphere. Then I heard it could not be done, structurally. As this is one of my favorite Epcot attractions, I am not ready to say goodbye (And I never will be) so I hope the second rumor is true. Any thoughts? :worried:

Also, it seems like at one point there was going to be an attraction built at one of the parks called Mount Fuji. It seems like the location for it was even marked on a Disney map for that park, as in a "future home of" type of way.

Finally, does anyone know why WDW has never had a Matterhorn?

Spending my one-year anniversary at WDW, on-site for the very first time!!!:love2:

Yes, I have heard that the sponser pulled out of Space Ship Earth sot hey would be changing it, but haven't asked anyone yet.

The attraction you speak of is MT. EVEREST set to go up in the AK by the spring of 2006. It's a rollercoaster type ride. :Pinkbounc :bounce: Read the link about EXPEDITION EVEREST to find out more. :teeth: :hyper:

Thanks for the info! Everset sounds great! Was it ever, maybe in the "twinkle in the imagineer's eye" stage, ever referred to as Mt. Fuji? Or did I pull this out of my...uh, pocket?

Hi, alliecats! I had to think where I've heard about Mt. Fuji too, and then I recalled. I just took the Keys to the Kingdom tour in December. Over lunch, we were talking with the guide about Epcot and attraction ideas that have fallen by the wayside. He said that there was a Mt. Fuji roller coaster ride on the drawing board for Epcot, because they wanted a thrill ride there. This was before Test Track and Mission Space, of course. They aborted the idea because the Fuji company would be the corporate sponsor, but they already had Kodak as a major sponsor at Epcot. Kinda interesting...

Thank you travelbug! I feel much better now about my memory and my sanity--the whole pacakge.
