We will be at the fort this weekend and i think there is supposed to be a shuttle launch on Saturday at 715am as long as its not postponed is there a good place in the fort to be able to watch the launch from? I've got 2 days and counting down i cannot wait!!

You can watch the launch next to the pond in the grassy field. it is near the
outside movie/campfire.

I would suggest watching the launch from the boat dock at the marina.

I second this. I have seen 3 launches from the boat dock. It's pretty good! :thumbsup2 Let's hope there is not much cloud cover. I couldn't see the last launch because there were too many clouds. :headache:

On Monday friends asked if we wanted to take the MH over to see the launch, I figured that we would never get a site. Well we got the last site at Manatee Hammock, leaving tomorrow night. I hope it's not cancelled, they say that is a great place to see it.

Sounds like fun, Lorna!! Plus,,, you will avoid all that horrible traffic!

Grab a cuppa joe, open the door to the RV & watch the shuttle launch. Life just doesn't get any better than that!

We will be staying at Manatee Hammock on Friday and Saturday as well to see the launch then head to the Fort on Sunday. Hopin for good weather for the launch.

Yes Deb you are right, I love my MH
I will have my dish sign in the window, colamom look for us, we have a Forest River MH black and white, there will be 5 of us and I have a very thick New York accent. Hope to see you there, we are planning on bringing our golf cart.

Its worth driving over to Coco Beach and watching. First launch I ever saw was from the Wal Mart in Coco Beach could not see it come off the pad but could as soon as it got up.

Because the launch is so early - traffic probably won't be too bad. I would suggest going to Jetty Park at Port Canaveral. It's a terrific view from the beach there & a nice park. You may also see a Disney cruise ship. Pack a cooler & enjoy the day.

Just so everyone knows, launch for this morning has been cancelled, they found a hydrogen leak, that will take minimum 4 days to fix, so they're looking at maybe wednesday. Bummer, looks like a georgous morning!!

We were at Manatee Hammock and ready to get up, the friends we were with said stay in bed it's been cancled. I had booked this CG and new it was close, we got in late on Fri. and didn't have time to look at where it was.
After we got up on Sat. and went down to the beach, we realized what a perfect site it was, we would have been right behind the shuttle. We were so disappointed, when they decide to lauch it, it will probably be a weekday and we can't get off of work. I would have loved to see it from that spot.
The CG is not bad we had a hard time getting into the site, it was dark and there are a lot of trees, some campers helped us. We ended up relaxing and had a nice time anyway. A bad day camping is better than any day at work.
