Space Ranger Spin being redone?

What does 7dmt do that TM can't?
Spaceship earth is completely different.
Walt wanted to have a place people could have fun and may learn a little something about progress along the way. Maybe we should dump the Hall of Presidents too.

Beyond being a family coaster the two have little in common.

On the other hand Spaceship Earth and CoP are doing exactly the same thing, except Spaceship Earth does it a lot better.

Hall of Presidents, while being pretty tedious after more than one visit in my opinion, is at least unique in the parks. Nothing else is telling that story.

I wish they would update the Buzz AA's face. It's hard to see nowadays especially compared to the AA's in The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I'm sure plenty of others disagree, and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It was interesting to read the above blurb about excitement over new appliances in the 50's and 60's.

If they actually cared about making it an interesting and funny show again, that's an interesting angle they could take. People WERE once really excited about getting new gadgets and appliances every few years. But nowadays people are almost comically blasé about technology and nobody seriously thinks about flying cars, talking appliances and other futuristic concepts.

I was going to give a sketch of a new scenario along those lines ... but you know, I just don't think the physical infrastructure of the ride, the scenes or AAs or the music are worth saving. It's headed to immortality as an artifact on youtube along with Horizons and If You Could Fly.

There's plenty of room for an interesting, witty ride or show that's all about people and their technology. I just think that the Spinning Theater of Appliances is not the best way to present it. It's in Tomorrowland fer crying out loud ... paging Mr. Tom Morrow to come up with a modern, relevant attraction ...

I completely disagree with the premise that Spaceship Earth and CoP are the same. SE is a very long range look at the way we grew as a civilization, with a major focus on communication. It shows many ideas from different eras and different cultures and demonstrates the human race's advancement throughout our time on the planet.

CoP is a look at the "average" American family engaged in daily life in 4 different decades, and the way their lives are affected by the technology around them. Its theme is optimism and faith that things are improving as time goes by.

Are they both a look back in time? Yes. Are they both "educational" rather than "thrilling"? Yes. But not the same.

I do think the final scene is needing a bit of updating, but I also think it would be neat to bring it back to just the next decade in order, rather than jump up to "today", which needs constant updating, and feels a little disjointed to me... But I would argue that Walt's idea of the future (the "great big beautiful tomorrow") should never be absent from the park.

Oh and BTW, my DS who is 7 LOVED CoP. As in dragged us on it multiple times. As in Ran on so he wouldn't have to wait for the next show. He calls it one of his all time favorites. So apparently it has some relevancy for the younger generation too...

Now if you're talking improvements, I think Tomorrowland should have something that looks like a galactic space port, and I'd love to see a decent Stitch ride, perhaps a ride through space with Wall-E, flying cars or that bubble idea (or time travel?) from Meet The Robinsons, and a re-themed Speedway to be hover cars or perhaps spaceships - whether from any of the futuristic movies or from Miles from Tomorrowland - or even ships from Star Wars. Just my 2 cents...

Who else wish they adjusted the music heard in the ride outside the queue? Because I wasn't aware the ride had a sci-fi and electronic version of "Strange Things" playing throughout the ride.

I'm one of those definitely emotionally attached to CoP. I can't make a good argument for why it should stay beyond the fact that I love it and I would be sad if it bit the dust. I would rather have it go away completely than get a lame reboot and new script, too. I'd love an updated final scene, but I'm sure it'll just get the boot before l that ever happens.

I do, however, hope they replace Stitch and Laugh Floor which are seriously wastes of space. No nostalgia to convince keeping those around. Put in two fab attractions there, and then if you must take my CoP away, do it after Stitch and Laugh Floor are replaced :)

I think laugh floor is a good attraction it just doesn't say tomorrowland. Stitch on the other hand needs to go.

MK needs the least attention of the parks imo. I like laugh floor, Buzz is ok although I agree TSMM is so much better that it seems like it shouldn't exist. CoP we love, the people mover we love, space mountain a lot of people love, the speedway has a target demographic that love it too. Stitch is the only attraction that is universally not liked. If there is one thing I wish they would do in magic kingdom its to replace the audio systems on the jungle cruise boats with something that is louder and more clear. When the jokes are the attraction the audio needs to be good and right now its terrible

No debate here about some attractions that need some TLC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Andy's Room" the ride load and unload area? Seems like his room when I've looked around while waiting my turn to ride. The clouds and blue sky wallpaper, the stacks of games and toys along the sides, the furniture painted along the walls, sure looks like his room to me.
No its a section of the ride however that permit was for HVAC.

I stand corrected, my post was for TSMM anyway, not Buzz. Need another trip to get these straight in my mind!
