If you sit behind my 300 lb husband while he's sitting in the front of the log on Splash, you WILL get soaked. My poor skinny brother, sitting behind my hubby. And what an evil cast member, to seat my hubby there! They were both sopping at the end of the ride. My brother was wearing his wicking running clothes, so he dried, but hubby was wearing all cotton and dripped for hours.
Get a poncho!
I personally can't stand the cheapie ones, and I've been VERY happy with our $7 ponchos with Mickey on the back. They have been used multiple times, including a recent haircut for my 3 year old. (much less complaining about itchy hair!) They are much thicker, don't do the cling-wrap thing that the cheapie ones do, and can be easily folded back up and put into a bag for future use.
Oh, and use the hoods. No matter how many looks you get, put the hood on. You'll be much happier if you do that.
If you do go on Grizzly, be SURE to use ponchos. If you have anything with you, there are FREE lockers over behind the measuring area near the CMs (ask if you can't find the lockers). They are free for something like 2 hours, and they are wonderful! I put my purse and camera in there, took my poncho, got in line. Put the poncho on as I got to the front of the line, and was nice and dry at the end, while everyone else on my raft was soaked and envious.
On Splash, and on Grizz too, watch out for your shoes. I love the poncho but I won't put plastic on my feet, so I try to make sure I'm wearing my sandals, or keep my feet up at the splashy parts of splash, so the water in the bottom of the boat doesn't soak my feet. Does NOT work on Grizz...quite a lot of the water is from the geyser at the end (see my trip report from December, linked into my signature, for pictures of the geyser) which sprays up then comes down on you and into the raft, so just try to wear sandals on it.
I don't like being wet either, but I love Grizzly (splash is OK, but I can easily do without riding it, and probably will do without unless DS wants to ride this time) more than I dislike being wet, which is why the Poncho is your Friend.
