We will nowBut at least you generally don’t wait the full time for the experience.

True.
Mainly pointing out that to us, the extra person in the odd-numbered party is the "rando" (to use the poster I quoted's questionable implication word) to those of us who are solo.
Except you specifically were in a line where you were choosing that to happen?
Also if we wait in the normal line we’re still put in an empty seat, we just waited shorter in the single rider line. Personally I think it’s great when Disney runs at full capacity as efficiently as possible. Those seats are there for people to ride in. Places like Knott’s don’t fill in the empty seats and the lines move so much slower

I love the funny stories you get being a single rider! One of my favorites was on Grizzly River Run when somebody asked if you get wet and I sarcastically said “no” and then clarified what she already should’ve known, that the point of the ride is to get wet but then when she got wet she got mad at meAgreed!!
At least with a ride it's only a couple of minutes. On a cruise ship where you're put at a table with others it's the length of the cruise!
(And you can get some funny stories like the little girl at Epcot who bit her dad's arm on Test Track "because you said it didn't go fast and it did!")
So what's your preference? That the seat next to the third member of your party be kept vacant, leading to longer wait times for all?
Single rider is excellent.
Yes.
Exactly! Just because the single rider line for SM is gone doesn’t mean I’m canceling my solo trip next week. It just means I’ll use genie+ for it once a day and have to use the standby line the rest of the timeSo longer lines for everyone because you don't like sitting next to strangers?
Seems a bit odd to me, but to each their own.
But you do realise, single riders will still exist even if they don't have their own dedicated lane?

Honestly I doubt she did save any time cause that SR line was trash lol. But I don’t think that experience accurately represents the majority of single riders. Most times I’ve been on Indy has been by myself and while I enjoy the ride I keep to my own seat. But it definitely isn’t enjoyable when the riders around you are invading your personal space. One time on Guardians a girl was kind of digging into my (somewhat large) legs to grasp the handle and her grip was harder whenever a drop happened and that wasn’t super pleasant lolI understand when people go alone that SR is a nice perk. I've never personally used it, even when traveling solo. I went to Disneyland Paris alone and am not even sure if they had a SR option but still got on almost every ride in both parks. When I'm traveling in a group, I do wish they would just give everyone their own row/space. I guess I should be grateful that they don't shove as many as they can in each vehicle. I sat with two others on the same bench on Remy's and they had 3 different parties to a row on Pirates (total of 6 people lol)!
Preferably, yes. As I stated in a prior post, my mom was banged into by a woman who was acting like a ragdoll on Indy. Is there some jostling around and potential for brushing against the person next you? Sure. But when you get shoulder-checked multiple times because someone thinks leaning into each turn is amusing, it takes the enjoyment out of the ride you waited 45+ minutes for. The woman who did that waited a fraction of time in SR so no skin off her back for ruining the ride for others.
Not everyone is like this, but it's more comfortable for everyone when there is space.

Fair point! Extra space is never a bad thing, especially because it helps larger people be more comfortableUgh, that's the worst! I'm not a fan of strangers touching me (especially unexpectedly), so that's probably why I'm extra sensitive when it does happen lol
I totally agree it's not the majority of people, it would just be nice if there was a bit more space in between the seats.
LOL that’s hilarious! Have you seen the “angry Splash Mountain lady” picture that went viral? If not you shouldI always laugh when we get rides photos back with random person and usually they don’t look too happy! My fave classic was on test track. We had 5 of us and a woman sat in the back seat with DH and I. Our kids were in the front. In the ride pic she’s got her arms folded, and looks angry. of course we put the pic in the family album and had to put a smile sticker on her grump-face

I don’t like being squished next to strangers. For a ride like Matterhorn, I couldn’t care less. For something like Space Mountain or Incredicoaster, I don’t feel there is enough space and as someone who is 6’ 4”, I already feel cramped enough without needing to get jammed next to someone else.
Also, sorry for the “rando” comment, reading it again, it sounded unnecessarily mean.
