If I'm not mistaken, didn't Disney say they are just replacing the track, not changing it? Seems the only things they are changing is the queue area and stuff...not the ride itself....maybe I'm wrong?

you're right. what i've heard and was told that they replaced the track. they're in the process of remodeling the interior of the ride, meaning the queue line, load area, unload, the load gates, figuring out if they could use the skyway for a possible single rider line or for a fastpass line. CMs will see a new computer control system as well.

I am be way wrong here, but if they are just changing the queue area, can't they keep they ride open? Just have guests "rerouted"?

One thing I heard was they are making the ride just one track and working on extending it. Just what I heard.

they are changing the queue line, but as well mostly everything else, interior wise. don't know how easy it would be to have the attraction open while redoing the whole queue line, especially when i heard they might put in an interactive game area in the queue line.
