Space Mountain Question

Okay, as you might have read, I am NOT a roller coaster person. I'm afraid of heights and anything with a steep drop freaks me out. Would I like Space Mountain? I'm told I HAVE TO ride it. Anyone else out there who is a chicken and has been on it?

I am a total roller coaster wuss (note, I do like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad) but other roller coasters freak me out.

Having said that, I love the new Space Mountain. It is very smooth and just awesome all around.

I rode it the day it re-opened this year and fell in love with it. I rode WDW's SM last month and I still hate that

Space Mountain doesn't have any big drops. It just goes fast. You twist and turn your way down. It is a lot of fun with music, and you're surrounded by stars, so you cannot see the ground. If you're like me, you'll be checking out all the cool effects. If you're really chicken, you'll ride with your eyes closed, so you won't even notice.

If you can deal with the rush of air, and going fast, you should try this attraction.

Space Mountain is a must ride because it is really cool! BUT........it is a roller coaster. It does not have steep drops, but you can't see where the track is going. It is pitch black in there. There is some light from the planets, stars, etc..., but you really can't see the track well. It takes you to the top of the coaster and then you "wind" down-it goes fast and whips around turns. The new Space Mountain is pretty smooth, though. I think it is really fun, but I do like roller coasters. It is scarier the first time you ride any roller coaster because, after that, you know what to expect!

Space Mountain is WONDERFUL! You must try it! My 5 year old loved it so I know that you will be fine! Because it is so dark you don't really feel that "roller coaster" freak out. There are no steep drops... it just goes fast. The music and lights are great! Give it a try and I'll bet you won't just do it once!

I feel exactly the same way you do about roller coasters, but I like all the Disney ones (have not tried Screamin). The new Space Mountain is absolutely my favorite ride; I loved it! Yes, you HAVE to try it!
