Space Mountain Haloween Reviews

Oh looking forwards to doing the ride! I would love to be able to go down and ride that ride. Would be such a blast!

For maximum impact, here's something I noticed:

I always ride SM in the front seat, but after my first 2 rides this morning, I decided to try the view from the back. Other than the lift hill projections (which work great from the front seat), I think most of the projections have a bit more impact if you are back a couple rows. Also, since several play along the walls on the outside of the curves, sitting on the left side of the car will put them right beside you. (Don't say I didn't warn you...)

I agree. We rode it four times - twice Friday, twice yesterday, and we sat in rows 4, 5, 6, and row 1. By far the worst experience was in row 1 - it seems like it should be the best, but you really don't see the projections along the side at all since you're almost past them when they start. And it's also better if you're sitting on the left side of the car.

Someone asked earlier if it would be scary for kids - it depends on the child, of course, but I think some of the images would be scary by themselves, not to mention when you have a long sort of gruesome-looking arm reaching towards you.

Make sure you go back to Space Moutain at *night*. You don't have to go on the ride, but at night they do a series of light and sound effect shows on the roof of the ride. You can see it quite well from the area where the "water ball" is located. It's kind of eerie!

My friend got back today after her daughter and niece (age 8 and 12) rode Ghost Galaxy on Friday. She said they both thought it was pretty scary. She said the picture they take on the ride has both of them covering their eyes with one hand. She said she'd rank it about PG-13, which I interpret to mean not for little kids, and parents should know what their mid-size kids can tolerate for scariness.

I think I'm going to have to ride it first with the big kids before we even consider taking the 7- or 4-year-old on it.

I'll agree with the PG-13 rating. I was not a fan of the ride at all. Just not "Disney". My son will be 5 in December and he said that was scary.

Thanks for the reviews!!

I cannot wait to ride but... I think I will let dd (8) take a pass until the overlay is off.

She has not ridden before. It sounds a bit too intense for a first time. :scared1: DD just started riding IJ, MM, ToT, and POTC.

as you can probably tell from my picture, I wasn't thrilled with it. It was better the second time, but while I usually ride Space Mountain several times a day, once a day was enough for me.:snooty:

My boys didn't know what to expect and we rode it for the first time during the Happiest Haunts Tour (no waiting! yeah) It freaked them out, but by the end of our stay and four rides later they were OK with it. :rolleyes1

They are 8 and 12 and love scary stuff, but this was intense. As for my husband and myself......it was the coolest ever!! and we loved the soundtrack!! The projections were amazing. Grab FP's and the wait isn't too long at all.
