Space Mountain / Ghost Galaxy

Does anyone know if Disney has a specific date they change over to Ghost Galaxy every year? We are going in mid to late Sept. next year. I noticed that they were changing it now or soon for this year. I honestly don't care to ride it as Ghost Galaxy but if I have to I will. I rather it just good old Space Mountain especially with going with family that has never been to DL before. I would like them to ride things as they are. But oh well...

The ride is closed for the change over and then reopens with the Halloween overlay. I would guess that by mid- late september next year it would have the Ghost galaxy overlay. But, hey, at least the ride will be open!

Oh, and the official start to halloween for Disneyland is today!

If I am not mistaken this is the fourth year GG has been offered. So not a lot of history.

For the last three years - maybe four - GG has opened with Halloweentime on the Friday of the week following Labor Day. That is 11 days after Labor Day. This turns out to be some time in mid-September.
