Space Mountain FP?

I just booked our FPs a couple of nights ago for our April trip. We used FastPass+ for the first time last April and things went fairly well, but I have more uncertainty about it this time around - I'm not sure if I've just been reading about larger crowds or what, but I'm second guessing some choices...

Anyway, we have 2 1/2 days scheduled in MK. Given kid preferences and attraction closures, we ended up with two of the same headliners booked for each of the three days (7DMM and Splash Mountain), then a different, what might be considered more "B" level attraction, for the third FP - one day PP, then JC, then HM.

So, DD8 wants to do SM again, DS10 decidedly does not! I've been looking on Touring Plans at their fastpass availability chart, to get an idea of what attractions run out of FPs the quickest. So, here are my options... (1) keep what I have, and the two of us do Space Mountain at rope drop, (2) change either JC or HM since they'd probably be easier to get as a 4th FP, and split up and do 2 FPs for SM and 2 for TS or Buzz or something for DH and DS, or (3) try to get 2 FPs for SM as a 4th FP, but not sure how likely that would be... Hope I am making sense - thanks!

Doing #1 will be easiest rather than hoping for SM as a 4th FP.

You can't do #2 because you are already booked for SM for each MK day.

I'm sorry, I was unclear - we're booked for Splash Mountain for each day, because everyone likes that (and BTMR will be closed). Currently none for Space Mountain, but you're probably right, might be easier not to have to worry about it. Thanks!

Space Mountain at rope drop. It's unlikely to get Space as a 4th. Having said that, I find that if I constantly refresh the MDE app, I have been able to get just about anything same day. The problem is, if you check at random time, it is likely to be unavailable. If you check CONSTANTLY, you would be surprised what you will get.

Switch HM to Space and whatever ride for DS. You're more likely to get HM as a 4th FP or even just as a walk-on/standby.

Yes, option 3 doesn't make sense - it would be too stressful to keep checking! I didn't want to split us up initially, but it would probably be better to switch it to 2 and 2 with Space and then get something less popular as a 4th FP for the 4 of us. We can even try for rope drop on our first day, and if we get on and she's good with the one ride of Space, I can change up the other one before we go back - thanks!
