Space Center trip hotel?

OK- I appologize since I guess this isn't really "Orlando", but it's close right?! If there's a thread for this then I missed it.

Well anyways,we're visiting Kennedy Space Center and surrounding area in early May. I need suggestions on where to go that's nice but reasonable (doesn't have to be the Ritz but no roach motels please) as we will have just spent both arms and legs after 5 days at Disney. I noticed the hotels are a bit pricey in that area for what I want. We want to be near ocean and Kennedy and I have no idea where to begin. Basically all I'm asking for is somewhere that's clean (very important), safe, and close.

The last time I was there, I was in college and thought the motel we stayed in was nice. For some reason it didn't seem to matter that there were Coors beer lables stuck on the ceiling and the carpet was drenched from god only knows what. Needless to say I've changed.

Best place to start is Tripadvisor.com - they have all of the hotels ranked based on submitted reviews.

Check out the list of Titusville-area hotels - Best Western Space Shuttle Inn is ranked #2...I've heard lots of good stuff about it, and it's close to KSC and the beaches.
