I thought I'd ask here since there are a lot of packing tips...

Has anyone used those space bags things for traveling?? They sell them on QVC, just push the air out at it's flat, looks good on TV, but do they really work??

Yes, they do work. In fact, they work great! Just be sure you get the travel size bags which you can push the air out by rolling them (not the type you have to have a vacuum cleaner). I don't put any clothes in them on the trip over. I use them for the trip home for packing all the dirty clothes and wet clothes, which leaves me extra room in our suit cases for souveniers!

I use space bags and plastic reclosable bags for packing almost all my things. That way if the suitcase is inspected, everything stays in place. The space bags seem to give me more room. :cutie:

We used the same bags during our recent trip and they were F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! I would recommend them...they truly were "space savers"! :goodvibes

I've always used them on my trips as they allow me more space. Just be careful though, I suppose since you can pack a lot more you could also pack so much that the bag would be over airline limits thus having you pay extra for the overweight bag. (This has never happened to me but I'm sometimes concerned that it will when I have to sit on my bag to get it closed!) :earboy2:

The ones that you can push the air out vs. vaccuum are WONDERFUL! They had them on clearance several months back at our Bed, Bath & Beyond store... we bought a bunch!

Has anyone ever had trouble at the airport with the space bags? My concern is that they will want to open the bags to inspect them. I am very excited to use mine but I'm hoping they won't need to see inside them that would be a pain in the middle of the airport!!
