We have been lucky to have gotten reservations here for our past two trips. The grandkids LOVE the experience and the food is quite good. On both of our visits, the service seemed to fall apart once our main course was served. Our server seems to have disappeared in space! 😂. No check in, no drink refills. And dessert took forever to arrive. Both times. Traveling with the littles, we like to keep it moving along at an appropriate pace….

Is this common or did we have two fluke visits? DH has said he is all set with coming back. But it’s such a fun place.

We were there in March for a 6 pm reservation, so during a busy dining period. Our server was attentive to the point we felt a tad rushed. I was still enjoying my salad when my entree arrived. Regardless, I made the effort to stretch out the experience so I could watch the visuals transition from day to night. I think it depends on which server you get. But in general I felt all the meals on our trip were rushed in an effort to turn tables over. Like you all, we loved Space 220. I'd say go again and communicate actively with your server to keep things moving along.

We tried to hurry it along. When we found our server this past time, we asked for our dessert to go and the check. But poof - off into space she went. Then our desserts came out unboxed about 10 minutes later.

We were there in late March for lunch and our server was pretty great. I thought everything was at just the right speed and he was very attentive. We had a 12:50 pm reservation though so maybe it was less crowded? We had a reservation for the restaurant but were seated on upper level of the lounge against the railing. It seemed like our server had a very distinct area nearby so he was never too far away. We loved it!

I went in Feb. not sure if it's because I was solo or not but I felt that my server set a really good pace for the meal, he'd check in on me when he attended his other tables and seemed to pay attention to when I was done with a course because within minutes he'd be there with the next one! I didn't feel rushed or forgotten, didn't feel like I was hounded or not as important as his bigger tables. I thought that Space was one of the best services that I'd received on a Disney property because of him and left many compliments as I was leaving and emailed as well.

This sounds so cool!

Does this happen at whatever time that day the sun is really setting?

I need to figure out what time the sun set mid-September….

We just had dinner here Wednesday night. We had a Lounge reservation, but opted to get the prix fixe meal. Our server, Mac, was just the right amount of attentive. We did not feel rushed at all, but did not feel the pace was too slow, either. If anything it was us dragging things out to avoid rain 😁

Yes, it is based on what time the sun actually sets in Orlando. We made a reservation based on this last month and it was really cool. The elevator ride up was day and the ride down was night also. Make sure to give yourself time to actually be seated before sunset. Took about 15 minutes after we checked in to go up to the restaurant.

The two times we’ve eaten in the restaurant it took us no less than two hours, no matter how we tried to rush our server. We won’t do the restaurant again for that reason. The lounge took considerably less time since we only ordered from the lounge menu and didn't have to wait for the courses to arrive and be cleared. We learned to ask for the check once our food arrived, which drastically cut down on our wait as well.
