Space 220 Lounge Question

At the Space 220 Lounge, can you ask to have a dish modified for kids? For example, getting the chicken and waffles with no sauce, just literally the chicken and the waffle. Or getting the short rib slider with just then buns, cheese, and meat, nothing else on it.

Also, I'm reading a lot about the Space 220 restaurant, but I'm not seeing nearly as much info on the Space 220 Lounge. Anyone been and have opinions to share?

We didn’t ask for modifications so can’t answer your first question with firsthand experience but I would imagine they can make the changes you gave as examples.

We enjoyed the lounge. The tables are smaller and you’re further away from the screens. But you could order whatever you wanted from the menus and didn’t have to do the prix fixe unless you wanted to.

We liked it. The trip to the space station was cool. I would book lounge again for the flexibility. I would not book lunch or dinner.

I'm sure they can make simple modifications to the meals.

We've eaten in both the lounge area and the dining room. I really prefer the lounge - I like the flexibility of choosing from two menus and also like that the tables are set back from the windows so you can actually see much better. We had lunch in the dining room a few weeks ago in the dining reservation section and were seated in a booth next to one of the furthest windows to the side - we could barely see anything. I will only look for lounge reservations in the future.

60 days out from our vacation (which is now a little over a week away) I booked Space 220 restaurant because I could. A week or two later they announced the ability to reserve the lounge, which I missed out on as they went quick. I set up alerts over a month ago and nothing has popped up. My question is if you have a reservation for dining are they flexible enough to let you switch that to a lounge reservation? I figured I would stop by before our actual reservation while we're there to ask in person, but wanted to see if anyone else has tried this with any luck. Thanks.

We loved the lounge. IMHO it has better views than the lower seating and it was nice to not be bound to the prix fixe menu. We were a little disappointed in Disney Signature dining on this trip a couple weeks ago. Things were off in some places that were tried and true so I wouldn't have been happy to pay a lot for another meal that I was forced to pay for and be disappointed. I get a sense that supply issues might have impacted menus. On a side note Cali Grill was amazing and worth every penny or maybe that was after being disappointed elsewhere for not much less...

But I digress.

I would think they could make certain modifications. For what it is worth, we tried the sliders and the kids liked them I would think they could leave a thing or two off. The lobster roll was good but for me it had too much lettuce and the roll itself was a bit overpowering although the lobster was good. My parents loved it.

The kids loved the Brussel sprouts and the cauliflower and the blue pop rocks drink was awesome. We DON'T really like any sweet drinks at Disney (not blue milk, not Pongu pongu and very few drinks at Ogas), they are just tooo sweet, but this one was good...actually really good and it was fun to drink it and have the pop rocks popping in your mouth, it brought me back to my childhood and I ordered a second one for a couple of us to share. The calamari was so so....it wasn't as fresh as I would have liked, but if it were fresher on another day, the crunch was great and oil wase fresh and the side dipping sauce was good. The kids ate it anyway and enjoyed it but the love calamari.

Suprisingly so, we had those few things and were totally satisfied, but it was on a day where we had the Boathouse for Dinner and didn't want to load up...but it worked out perfect and it was fun to be there knowing that it was so impossible to get into and I was shocked to see some tables empty when there was a pretty ridiculous line outside. I think it was one of the only parts of the trip where things didn't feel crowded...

i'm hoping to get the lounge. Our booking window opens up in 6 days, so i'll try then.
i actually spoke directly with space 220.
I was trying to find out if you can order the kosher tv dinners there (like are available at all the other table service restaurants in the parks), but they said no. They don't have them. So that rules out the restaurant for us.
so i'll try for the lounge.
