Space 220 Lounge or Restaurant?

On WDW website the lounge menu looks like appetizers only. Some say you can order from the restaraunt menu, can you order off a menu other than the lounge menu. Thanks

Is it possible to get a Lounge reservation for a party of 4? I’ve only been able to find availability for parties of 2.

For the Lounge, it's really just sitting at the bar. You will be facing away from "space" but there is a mirror and you can still enjoy the atmosphere. The menu is limited, but there are some of the appetizer options from the restaurant. The menu is here, but you can get the deviled eggs, calamari, shrimp tacos, and buffalo cauliflower (recommended) that are all on the regular menu. It appears some stuff is only on the lounge menu, like the Space Wings and Short-Rib Sliders.

This is not true. I had a lounge reservation and was seated right about near the little stairs to get to the booth type tables and faced all the screens. I was no where near the bar

Yes. I’ve done it a few times. Set a dining alert.

Can you split and go 2 and 2? They won’t be able to seat you together but everyone would get to experience it.

Thanks for the info. We'd rather not split since it's 2 adults and 2 young kids, so I'll keep looking. Thanks!

Set a dining alert. You can google it, there are free ones. I use Mouse Dining.

Otherwise it’s very unlikely you get it. Even once you set an alert you need to be FAST, stopping everything and trying to book the moment you get the alert.

I just managed to grab a late reservation for the lounge for 2 for later this week. It must have been a cancellation since there was nothing else through early August. Since it will be well past our normal dinner time, is it acceptable to go for drinks only and not order food?

yes...i have sat at bar and just had drinks

Just coming back with an update -

We ended up doing the restaurant - it was great! We set in a booth around the edge, our waitress had no issue with giving us a longue menu to order other apps. They also definitely over sat her, but she handled it great. Over all was a wonderful lunch, and I definitely recommend the Gamma Burst for a drink, but next time I'd get it without the boba, but that's just personal preference.

We enjoyed the lounge last evening. Our reservation was for 8:15 pm and we were taken up and seated immediately. We'd had a late lunch so decided to have dinner there (originally thought we'd only go in for a drink) and ordered the deviled eggs and short rib sliders, both of which were excellent and very filling. Our drinks were the Illumination for me and Gamma Burst for hubby and we enjoyed both. Our waiter was great.

Surprisingly, there were a lot of empty tables in the lounge area. We had a two-top just behind the bar but there were at least 5 four-top tables and a couple other 2-tops near us empty during our entire time there. The restaurant areas appeared mostly full. There were perhaps 8 people waiting in the downstairs lobby when we arrived and we were taken up while they were not. I was wondering if they were waiting for a seat at the bar which was full when we arrived and we didn't really notice any turnover during our time. So either there were cancellations resulting in those empty tables, or perhaps they were not filling up with reservations completely. There appeared to be plenty of staff.

The acoustics aren't great and we found it very loud and noisy despite there being so many empty tables around us but otherwise enjoyed the atmosphere. We'd go again based on the food and drinks but wouldn't necessarily feel the need to go again for the theming or atmosphere, if that makes sense.

We had originally planned to have a drink and then see fireworks, but rather than rush, we took our time enjoying our meal and did not finish up until around 9:15 so missed Luminous. For anyone wishing to do both, I would recommend getting a reservation no later than 7:45 for the lounge which I think would be enough time to enjoy a drink and bite to eat, then get back outside to watch Luminous from the Port of Entry area (as long as you're fine getting out there just before it starts and not worried about how good a spot you find).

Finally got to try Space 220 last night. The atmosphere is really nice. The food, not so much. We both ordered the calamari which was terrible, not fully cooked. Wife had beef filet which she said was really good, but the rest of the plate was sub par. I had the grouper and the seasoning was very bland in addition to the fish being just barely warm upon serving. Must have sat awhile. Desert was the carrot cake and I'll admit it was good. That said it was VERY loud, I turned my hearing aids down to minimum and finally just took them out. I'll put it on my "Been There and Will not Go Back" list.

I was surprised there weren't any lounge reservation for 4 even out 10 days for our trip....plenty for 2 ppl though.

That is very unusual. Not even sure how that is possible if you’re booking at ADR dropping time since no one can book before 60+10.

I wonder if they are limiting reservations at the lounge tables for four. As I mentioned above, when we were there last week, all the four-tops around us were empty and I’m assuming those were the lounge four-tops since they were right next to our row of lounge two-tops behind the bar. The restaurant tables were full so I’m sure if they opened up those tables, they would be taken.

I felt the same way. I'll check again tomorrow at 6am for our 11th day. This is for the end of August too so not a crazy busy time. Pretty much wide open for party's of 2 from day 7-10
