Space 220 Lounge - I think it's a myth....or just incredibly annoying

Does anyone have luck with walk-ups for a party of 2?

When you try to book this book right away for a table of 4 then try 3 if you don't get it. You can try to modify later or when you get to Space 220 you won't be charged for the extra people. Sometimes WDW doesn't like parties of 2, so I feel like they limit their availability. Speaking from experience trying to get tables for 2.

I managed lounge reservations last year for a trip - it was right at the 60 day booking window. But often, I'm a day or two late and it's no longer available.

I have done walk-ups twice - the first time was my first ever visit to the place, and I really just wanted to see it - walked over around noon, and was told I'd have to wait in line which was right around an hour. I decided to do it, again because it was the first time and I really wanted to see it - ended up waiting about 40 minutes. Second time, I walked up around 2:30pm, and was told the wait was around 10 minutes - this was in late January 2024. Wait ended up being around 5 minutes and got right in.

I'll be there in 3 weeks or so, and have decided I'll just try a walkup with my party of 2 and see if we get lucky with a short wait - if so, we may wait just so I can show him the place...if not, we'll skip it and do something else. I managed to score a Geo 82 reservation later that afternoon, so we'll get to see that place this trip before dinner at Topolino's that evening.

Keep checking the app - last couple of trips we were able to find day-off availability in the app.

We had the same luck in snagging a reservation on our last trip (Jan, 2025).

I got a reservation for my trip next month during my 60 day reservations. However, may have to drop it as we are park hopping to studios on same day and that time may not work out with when we might want to park hop.

That being said just keep checking for cancellations. The last time I got a reservation there was just randomly checking the app during the day when we were taking a break in epcot.

It's difficult to find ADRs for a party of 2. If it's unavailable I always check for 3 or 4 and immediately modify. It works!

FWIW, I love the theming but was unimpressed with the food. I can't get past no bread service for the prix fixe price. And I had lasagne! It's been a while since we went but won't be going back. Maybe things have changed but I'll have to learn about it on the Disboards.

On our most recent trip, we learned that Space 220 is not operated by Disney, but instead by an outside corporation, like several of the other restaurants at Epcot. This explains some aspects of the experience.

Does anyone have luck with walk-ups for a party of 2? I was thinking when we get to Epcot, try and put our name on list as soon as it opens and then maybe we'd get called at some point in the day?

Kind of ridiculous at this point.

Walked in with zero wait when it first opened … just 2 of us and probably just got ‘lucky’ …. FYI kind of a neat place to see but thought the food was meh, old fashioned was good, not sure we would go back and certainly wouldn’t a lot of time on it

I ended up getting this and GEO 82 very easily for our end of October/beginning of November trip!

Yes got one for July 2024 trip for lunch with no problem.

We snagged one in Nov 2023 using one of the dining alert services. It popped up the day before and I jumped on it. Cool experience.

Nothing available when ADRs opened up, but 2 days prior, I was able to get a table for 2 and a table for 3 at the Lounge for the same time. A lot of people switch around their plans close to the date.

I will mention that we had had lunch at the restaurant a couple of years ago, and I don't think we spent that much more at the restaurant than at the lounge. Those apps do add up, and they are individual portions. Just mentioning that because our main motivation for getting a Lounge reservation was because everyone says it will save you $$$$$, but it was still very pricey and not a large savings over the restaurant (at least at lunch).
