I just booked an aromatherapy massage for my DW and DD at the Grand Floridian Spa 8/17. My question is what do you tip the attendants for these treatments? Is 20% a correct figure?

Thanks in advance.

20% is a good rule of thumb for any "hands on" spa treatments. Enjoy! :)

I would advise checking or asking before tipping. The spas on Disney usually add the tip into the price. If you want to double tip, you're welcome to do so and I'm sure your therapist would be very happy (and may deserve it), but I'm almost positive the tip is included. :)

At one point eight or nine years ago I understand that this might have been the case, but at least within the past five or six years is is absolutely not.

I've visited the GF Spa close to two dozen times since around 1998, usually having multiple treatments on each visit, and have NEVER had the tip included.

Has your family ever used the Spa at GF before? I would love to do something like that during our October trip. When we went to Las Vegas a couple months ago, I surprised my husband by calling ahead to the hotel and making an appointment for a spa treatment. He had never had one before. He absolutely loved it. I would really like to do that again during this next trip.

The last time I visited a Disney property spa was about 4yrs ago (when I was living behind the property) and it was the GF. At that time, they DID include the tip in the cost of the massage I had.

As I mentioned, it does not hurt to ask if the service charge (which I believe is what they titled it) is included. Better to ask than to pay it twice; unless you're made of money and can afford it.

Mom visited the spa at the new Saratoga Springs this past Jun. I'll have to ask her if the tip was included. They're run by the same company that does the GF.

Also, if you prefer a male or female therapist, you might want to put that request in when you make your reservation.

But I hear it's very nice.

I just want to send my two favorite girls there, so they can have a nice mother/daughter afternoon together, while me and my big guy, head over to DisneyQuest, then take a spin on the water mice.
