Does anyone know the age requirements for the workout room and exercise equipment? My 16DS had knee surgery and need to keep up with rehab while onboard. I read about certain spa times in the teen navigators.
Thanks!

The spa and health club are strictly 18 and over, sorry.

Have a great cruise! :)

What you're seeing in the navigator is called "teen-time" - it's available only on port days and is a facial, mini-manicure and mini-pedicure.

I believe that if you are under 18 you can workout after 8pm? Check your navigator for details.

Does anyone know hours of exercise room
and/or steam room hours any fees???
Thanx

I think that if you asked the staff there after explaining the circumstances, they MIGHT be willing to let your son use the equip. during non-peak times. Most people can be decent if the circumstances warrant it.

The spa and fitness center is a run by an outside vendor and I read on another post that their insurance coverage does not allow anyone under 18 to use the facilities.

But, you never know and it can't hurt to ask.

Not sure about exact hours...check out dcltribute.com or barb & tony's site and they have the navigators posted.

There is no charge to use the fitness center, but all the treatments at the spa have a fee.

I'm pretty sure that the workout room closes at 8pm.

Wendi-

I highly doubt Steiner will make an exception, especially because he's already "injured"--too much liability.

I would suggest this--have the PT set him up on a schedule using Therabands during your vacation. Thhese are very small, inexpensive, lightweight and easy to pack, and he'll be able to use them either in your room or up on the deck.

FYI about the fitness center and teens:
We just got back from the 3-15-03 Western Magic cruise. My 16 yo daughter, a competitive figure skater, wanted to use the center to keep her fitness level up while off the ice. She is familiar with all the fitness equipment as she works out every day on many different types. I actively campaigned to get her permission to use the fitness center. There were no exceptions to the 18 year old rule. NO budging NO bending of the rules. They said that it is an ADULT ONLY AREA of the ship, advertised as such, and for insurance reasons as well, could not allow teens for any reason to use the center. The only way a teen can use the fitness center is during a few designated "teen" times in the center arranged by the common grounds staff. This time is fully supervised by the commmon grounds staff. The times are 8-9pm, 3 times during the cruise (I can't remember the days) but they did my daughter absolutely no good because we were on late seating for dinner. What she did to compensate for this, was to run around deck 4, 1/4 mile one time around and do other exercises needing no machines etc. She was "rusty" when she got back on the ice but after a few days, her endurance level was back.
