Spa Treatment Suggestions?

We'll be on the Wonder in October, and I want to book some time at the spa (or salon) for my mom and me. I've looked at the DCL website for descriptions and prices. We don't have a lot of extra money to spend, but I just got a wonderful surprise from my TA in the form of a refund of $257 - it's free money, so I'm putting it toward the spa!

Does anyone have suggestions for a good spa experience? I was thinking at least a pedicure (after 3 days walking around WDW), but would love a massage too. Or maybe lower cost treatment and then a salon visit? If we have, say, $200 apiece to spend, what would be the best way to spend it?

Another question - are the steam room, sauna, etc. free or is there an extra charge for them? I remember them being free on Celebrity, but that was a few years ago - just checking.

Thanks for any advice!!

The Well-Being Massage is my favorite. It's so relaxing. If you decided against an actual treatment, though, at least do the Rainforest. That is SOOOO relaxing and you can make it as long or as short as you want! I, persoanly, buy the pass fo the whole cruise and come and go as I please.

I did a "spa sampler" where you got to pick any 3 from a selection of 5 or 6 treatments. The girl "gave" me a mini-facial as a freebie since it was my 50th birthday! I think the sampler deal was $105 plus tip.

There is a locker room with a sauna that is complimentary, as is the fitness center. The rainforest is a series of 4 steam rooms of various scents and intensities as well as some special showers. It costs $15 per day OR $8 per day if you have a spa treatment on the same day. There are also "unlimited use" packages available.

My wife wants to do a mud thing. She heard about it on the internet and ever since she keeps talking about it. It's probably not for you and your mom. The two of us go into a private room and put the mud onto each other. Has anyone ever heard of this treatment? Does any one know the name of it and why isn't it online with the other treatments?

I had a swedish massage and a gentleman's facial on our last vacation, they were great. I don't know if DCL offers it but the full body salt scrubs is one of my wifes favorites, also the reflexology treatments.

What ever you guys choose, I'm sure Disney will make it great.

We really enjoyed the stone massage and the well being massage this past cruise. (hubby and I).

Our favorite by far is the well being massage with the salt lime glow back scrub. The salt lime glow is an add on treatment, they will offer you several when you get there.

I suggest, doing your massage at the end of your cruise, lol, so you are totally relaxed when you go home and go back to work.

The hot stone massage does sound wonderful - I read several posts about it. And I've seen several posts mentioning the Rain Forest, but I didn't see anything about it on the DCL website. Thanks for all the tips - somehow I think we'll enjoy whichever one(s) we pick!

The seaweed wrap is AWESOME! They slather you in warm seaweed and wrap you up like a baked potato, then cover you with a down blanket. I always fall asleep. Then it ends with a massage.
In theory, you and your mom could do the Rasul (mud bath)...just put the mud on your own selves instead of mutual spreading. They usually have a variety of spa products in the room to try. It's not limited to a couples experience, although that's where its infamy arises from.

Rasul Steam Bath - $83.00
A Surial Steam Bath is yours to enjoy in privacy for 60 minutes. You'll be provided with an assortment of muds from Austria. Once you apply them, you enter the steam chamber where the combination of heat and earth removes impurities.

Frank-it's called "Rasul" and it's $83 per couple. It wasn't online but it is now as I was able to book it a few days ago for my July 30th cruise.

i would HIGHLY reccommend a hot stone massage :jumping1: my husband and i had one on our alaskan cruise and it is the most relaxing experience of your life. the combination of the heat from the stones and the pressure from the massage unwinds every muscle in your body.

You are talking about the rasul. We just booked it, but book quick! They go fast!

Maybe you are thinking of the Rainforest. It isn't free, though. It's $15 per day.

Another vote for a massage. I had mine on the ship last time, but my DH had an open-air cabana massage at Castaway Cay that he said was heavenly. The hot stone massage sounds fabulous, too.

However, I wouldn't recommend doing a pedicure on ship. You can get the exact same thing done on land MUCH cheaper. I had a pedicure done on our last cruise and would never do it again. I plan to get one before we leave home this time.
