I am thinking of visiting one of the WDW spas during my trip and am looking for feedback on which to go to. We are staying at BC, so the Mandara at the Dolphin (Swan?) is the closest. But I am having trouble finding any real feedback on it.

My next thought was GF spa, maybe with breakfast at Kona beforehand. Assuming I took the resort bus to the TTC, it is not too bad a trip. But it seems to get mixed reviews, and it is a lot of money if the service isn't great.

Last thought is SSR. But that seems awfully tough to get to from BC. I guess I'd have to either walk through Epcot to the bus stop, or take the resort bus to DTD then walk/bus there. It sort of seems like a lot of work, but then I could wander DTD when I was done.

Any thoughts? Recommendations? JJ

Last year I took my Mom to the spa SSR for Mother daughter pedicures. I really enjoyed it and so did my Mother(It was her Mothers day gift) The ladies were great and I found it to be a really nice and relaxing time. We were staying at the BWV but I think we had a car and drove over. Have fun wherever you end up going and enjoy.

The only Disney spa I have ever been to was GF. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I had one of the best pedicures I'd ever had there. I also have done a massage and body scrub. I wasn't thrilled with the body scrub but it had nothing to do with the technician... it was my first and I've since decided that body scrubs are not for me! The prices were no worse there than at any spa near home. And I have become addicted to the grapefruit scented shower gel and body lotion!! It smells fabulous! They have the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the lounge showers!

I think I'm going to get a treatment done at the grand floridian. I booked my trip through AAA so I get a 15% off body treatments by showing the diamond card.

when are you going? Let us know what you decide.

I think I am leaning toward the GF. Then I can have a leisurely breakfast at Kona and monorail over. My other option is still to consider Dolphin, I guess I just have to decide whether I feel like traveling or not.

BTW, I didn't book through AAA but have a card. Can I get a discount with it at the spas? Any of them, or just GF?

to get the discount it says you have to have the diamond card. But I was there in may and got the discount at the world of disney and only showed my reg. AAA card. The discount is for both SSR and GF. It's valid on any thing but massages/facials/hand and foot (what's left lol!).

I had the citrus package -- massage was okay, but the citrus soaking bath was out of this world -- just bliss, and such a fantastic smell!

Am definitely going to try to fit one in on my next trip!

Can you tell me exactly what you had? I am looking on the GF spa page and they have a citrus massage, facial, scrub, and bath. And then a package, but it doesn't look like it includes the same things (unless I am just reading it wrong).

I have had treatments at Mandara and SSR. I vote Mandara! It is absolutely beautiful. The quality of massage you get is mostly luck of the draw, unless you have been there and already have a favorite therapist. The pedicure at SSR was rather so so in my opinion. It definitely was not as good as the one's I get here at home. The convenience of the Mandara to BC and BWV is definitely another plus.

I am glad to hear good things about Mandara b/c it doesn't seem to get a lot of reviews (although those I have read have been positive). The proximity to BC is a big plus for sure. Thanks for the feedback! JJ

What services do you want? You can actually get massage sauna access at your hotel gym.

Probably a massage, not sure though. I think I'd prefer a spa though just for atmosphere. But thanks for the suggestion!

Hubby was at Mandara Spa for the first time just this past weekend. He had a swedish massage. (80 minutes) Massage therapist was excellent.

He said it was nice, beautiful on the inside. Wonderful citrus cucumber water served to you after treatment was wonderful and refreshing.

Rooms were nice, music a little loud. 18% tip included in price at end.

When they put you from back to stomach they do not put that nice eye cloth over your eyes for cover and he said the room was a little bright for not having the eye cloth..and setting was on lowest it could go.

The showers on mens side had trouble with water pressure..water flow up and down.

In after massage area called the temple you could order various light snacks. Beautiful area, comfy furniture..a balcony to go out onto overlooking swan/dolphin walkway.

Staff was very courteous.
