Spa Services and Physician Consult?

So I was thinking of booking a Fire and Ice Manicure as a treat for myself but am stymied by the requirement to have a 30 minute physician consult first. Um, I'll pass. I have my own doctor and pretty sure she's okay with me getting a manicure.

How odd, I had the Fire and Ice pedi and didn't have to meet with a physician when I did it a few years ago.

Is that new? I had a massage onboard and that didn't happen. In fact, I've never needed a doctor to look at me for a massage anywhere.

booked my wife a massage on our Fantasy cruise in November, and she most definitely didn't need to see a Dr. first. That's some strange fine print you found!

No experience with this, but I'm fairly certain it has to do with pushing more (extra cost) services/products than what you "think" you want done.

Manicure isn’t a spa appointment. It’s a salon appointment. Just did it. No consultation. Good luck.

I had the fire and ice mani-pedi a couple years ago, and no consult, although I was asked if I was interested in any additional services.

I would also note that I didn't find it to be that great an experience when compared with a Mani pedi back home. Ignoring the price difference, the color selection is not that great, and the pedi was done in a little plastic tub. I was expecting one of the massage chairs with tub built into it.

It is on the bottom of all spa services. Glad it is not really a thing, It feels pretty invasive to have to consult a physician on my cruise lol. Thanks for your replies everyone.

I think its for the "rejuvenation" services like botox and fillers.
