Spa/Rainforest Room Questions

So we booked our excursions last night for our very first cruise which is a 4 night on the Dream. We also booked a massage and had planned on buying 2 day passes for the Rainforest Room. I thought I had read somewhere that if you get a spa service you get access to the Rainforest Room that day. Is that correct? If it is, is it only before/after the service or is it anytime that day? I also really want to book another massage and a pedicure for a different day but I've read there are a lot of specials offered onboard on the first day and port days. Is that generally the case? It seems like it would make more sense to wait until that day and see what the offers are in order to get a better deal and hopefully more relaxation time? Background- we are 2 adults and it's been a bit of a rough year. Our goal is to relax. We booked adult dining, blue lagoon, and intend to do some pretty heavy spa time.

As far as I know, spa services do NOT include the Rainforest Room.

Don't know about the other questions as I'm very picky about who gives me a massage so I haven't done a shipboard one on Disney. (Did on Holland once and it was NOT a good experience as the person didn't listen to me. I'd rather stick with my person here who I know has a clue and listens.)

I do not believe the rainforest room is included with spa services any longer. If you buy a pass, it is good all day and you can come and go.

I bought a sampler special on board...I had to pay for my Rainforest Pass separately. I asked for my Rainforest money back because it is located under the sports court on the Wonder, and there was a game going on, so all I heard was thud, thud from the basketball and a zillion people running around. Not relaxing at all.

  • DH and I make spa time a focus during our adults-only cruise. We buy a rainforest room pass for the length of the voyage so we don't need to worry about access, and we use it every day. Passes used to be a little cheaper if purchased online before you board. I'm not sure that's still true. We also use the spa to shower, although you could do that through the fitness center.
  • One of the most relaxing experiences in our opinion is the couple's spa villa. We book it for about a half hour after All Aboard, and we are relaxing in our villa as the ship pulls slowly away from port. There's not much that's more carefree than watching a Caribbean island slowly disappear in the distance near sunset.
  • We've had average to great experiences with massage on DCL. I've fallen asleep during the massage more than once, and one time, had the experience of feeling a sore elbow slowly work itself out during the massage with no more pain afterward. Never had that happen before. Maybe we're lucky, but we find the spa employees to be very accommodating and customer-focused. Perhaps it is because they are more dependent upon tips.

I just got off the Magic. I will say that the price for the Rainforest room for one day was $27 on the Magic. I don't know if it was the same or not. I ended up buying the whole cruise package, and it was one of the most relaxing places ever. I would usually just go and lay on the heated lounge chairs. I will also say that they only opened up 30 full cruise packages. 15 spots were gone by the time the spa raffle happened on the first day. I am not sure how many they would open up for day passes or full cruise packages on the Dream.

The Rainforest room was not included in any spa services.
