I just have 2 but need to know quickly we leave this Friday and sail on Saturday.

Has anyone done the training instruction ( I think that is right) or the body fat analysis at the spa? If so, is it worth it?

Also is the gym a nice one and what type of machines do they have?Is it worth visiting?

My husband wants to know before we go and before he spends the money.

Woo hoo only 2 or 3 days to go, depending on how you look at it!!!!!

We can't wait!!!!!

the gym is free so why wouldn't you go have a look?...(there's the standard equipment....treadmills, i think an elliptical trainer but i'm not sure.....maybe a stair climber.....bicycle...i wasn't really paying attention when we saw it)...
as for the other things, i don't know...
i suggest you go on the tour the first day (we did that after going to our room but before the safety drill).....
it was very interesting...they explained all the different treatments and showed us around the spa/gym/etc (and since you have a view of the bridge from the exercise area it's worth a visit if only for that)....
my daugther ended up signing up for a massage at the end of the tour.....(and she said the massage was great...she had been in very bad pain up to then...back pain.....the massage took care of it for several weeks...)..

by the way, we were on the wonder, but i think they also have a tour on the magic....

I have pictures of the workout room,

threadmills, stair climbers and bikes plus resistance equipment.

I wish they would add a few elliptical trainers. I think they were just starting to get popular when the ships were equiped.

poohntigger;

I did the body composition analysis at the Magic spa in January. I believe it was around $25-30 plus tip. I remember that Fiona was the employee who conducted the "training". She hooked up a small handheld machine to my wrist and foot and it sent an electrical impulse from one end to the other and then printed out a brief report. You don't feel anything. What I found both interesting and disappointing is that she simply asked me how tall I was and how much I weighed. I had no idea what I weighed at the time and told her what I would guess. I informed her that I could be off by 10 or more pounds. She just input that number and the rest of the machine's calculations worked off of it. Very scientific!! She then found a free area in the women's locker room (I think that's where we were) and we sat down while she went over it with me.
She gave advice on a level of exercise, number of calories to consume and amount of water to drink. All of this was common sense and can be found in any health book or magazine. The majority of the half hour was spent telling me how to "detoxify" my cells using (SURPRISE) some very expensive concoctions sold by the Steiner spa.
If you've gotten this far in my response - you have probably surmised that I thought I wasted my money and would not recommend this "treatment". You are right! The machine she used is nothing fancy - I have a $85 Tanita scale that does the same thing now (no printout). You can also have that same measurement done at any health club.
Save your money and use it on a massage or something else. Just remember to bring your earplugs to pop in when they start their sales pitches!
Have a WONDERFUL cruise!!:teeth:
