Souvies, Halloween, MHP, and Other Updates

We're trying to decide the same thing. Is the BB decorated any differently for the Halloween package or is it the same as it would be if we go for lunch on a different day? I don't want to miss the Toon Town pre-party unless there is something different than we could do any other day. I was hoping there was going to be a villain or two at the dinner.
I didn't see anything that pertained especially to the Halloween Party or dining package. I'm pretty sure it would look the same whether you went for lunch or for dinner. The dining package is a three course meal (one item in each course is exclusive to the package) and includes a FP for the reserved viewing area, light-up lanyard with souvenir credential, and a 1.5 pound bag of candy for each guest.

So we are attending the party next Monday, 10/03. If we don't have a dining package and we would like to go to the 1st parade, when would we want to start camping out to get a good spot for the parade and fireworks? I'm thinking it's probably best to just stay in that spot, right? How much time is in between the parade and the fireworks? Thanks!

It's going to depend somewhat on where you watch the parade from, but in general, you'll probably have at least 30 minutes from when the parade ends until the fireworks starts. I saw the parade on Main Street (close to where the Crystal Aracade sign is) and there is about a 30 minute gap between my last photo of the parade and my first photo of the fireworks.

Thanks - so if we wanted to watch the first parade, you think looking for a spot around 8pm would be okay or should we start camping out earlier than that?

I have a BB reservation at 6:30 pm but I'm really afraid that we are going to lose time in eating instead of going around the park and riding rides and it being the beginning of the party. Am i crazy to cancel or should I keep it... I'm also fiddling my thumbs as for 2 adults and 2 kids would be close to $200... eek!

Honestly I'm cancelling mine at 5:10 for Friday because based on recent reviews abnd videos there seems to be no shortage of spots. I'm so used to the PTN crowds , and bring my first party I thought it was needed but I'm hearing otherwise.

I'm planning to go to main street area around 9pm for fireworks then catching the second parade and such. As the parade is kind of short at around 10 minutes and we go to BB often , it makes more sense for us.

I released my reservation after all! We visit Disneyland quite frequently and are going on a disney cruise in a couple of months, so I'll use that $$ for that trip instead!

We must have passed by each other at some point! I saw your periscope feed afterwards and I think we were sitting across from each other!

Impressive! I only found 10 before we had to head out to dinner.

It's one of the little details at the party that was fun to find. He used to be in the staircase leading up to the old Fantasyland Skyway station, but that's been demolished, so I wasn't sure if he'd show back up in the parks. Basically, it's glowing eyes and some sound effects. I have photos, but I just got home so I haven't downloaded my camera and processed the photos yet. If you scroll down in this post from last year, there is a photo of the dragon.

As Astylla said, it's basically the same design, but with a different color scheme and glow in the dark hands. Also, the opening has changed. Last year, top of the head (ears) detached (which was kind of precarious because some were loose), but this year, the whole face swings upward (hard to explain). Also, it comes with a lanyard type strap.

Wow, they were pretty plentiful throughout DL on Sunday morning. As mentioned, keep checking because you never know when they'll get re-stocked. I saw them at pretty much every CS location in DL and many of the stands (fruit carts, drink stands, etc.). Keep checking everywhere you walk by, because you never know when you'll find it.

I really want a Poison Apple mug when we are at DL at the end of this month! Sorry, but what is CS? Thanks!

Thanks. I will have to keep an eye out for it next time I'm there at Halloween.

When you stake out a spot for the parade, keep in mind that the headless horseman basically goes from the Matterhorn up Main Street, so if you are by it's a Small World, you won't see him (based on what some people told me that same him come out from that area).

That seems really odd! I watched both times from Main Street, so I don't have any first hand knowledge, but I've seen some YouTube and Periscope videos of folks that saw him on Small World Mall. I wonder if it meant he had trouble one time and exited near Matterhorn.

Maybe it was because it was the first parade?

The people standing behind us during the fireworks told us that he came out by Alice in Wonderland, near the Matterhorn and up Main Street. I'm really glad if he goes the full length, so thank you for the correction. :)

Strange and probably dumb question: is Starbucks on Main Street open throughout the party? I am going to the party only, not entering Disneyland on another day, and a coworker wants me to get her a mug. I don't want to lug it around if I don't need to, and want to get it as late as possible. I know you guys will know!!!

Krista :)

I recall seeing Starbucks open during the party (I don't recall how long after the party ended they remained open).

It is open until the end of the party, even if it looks like it isn't. Last year there was absolutely no one in there, only CMs. We were convinced it was closed. When we went in to ask, the CMs got really happy that they finally had customers.

It was open during our party and way less crowded than the carts to get a snack and a coffee/cocoa. it was near our spot for watching the parade so I left the teen to hold down our blanket and I grabbed some snacks and hot drinks to enjoy while waiting for the parade. there was no line and I was in an out in a second.
