What are the souvenirs you must have when you visit WDW? I am going in June, and will be buying our christmas tree ornaments. We also get the kiddos a sweat shirt, and fridge magnets for my collection. Also, looking for Star Wars items for my son's 11th bday party.

Mouse Ears! Something I HAVE to get every visit!!!!

1) Disney scrapbook with the year on it
2) refillable mugs
3) keychain with the year on it
4) more magnets to add to our collection
5) a new Disney purse
6) Disney X-mas ornament with the year on it
7) snowglobe with the year on it

Can't tell you how many refillable mugs I have:rotfl:

I just counted...we have 18 on the kitchen shelf.
And that's after selling 1/2 dozen at my last yard sale! :rotfl:

OMG - and I thought it was bad that I had 8! :rotfl:

We also come home with a popcorn bucket every trip.

And one thing we like to do that's not really a souvenir...take a picture in the exact same location every trip so I can compare them and see how my little guy (now 5.5) has grown from trip to trip. That actually started by accident with the drums in Animal Kingdom park, and now every time we go, we need to do a new picture there in that same spot.

We always buy one of the collage picture frames that can be found in most of the gift shops.
I think we have all the variations now... not sure what we will do this coming year. :rolleyes:

Pick a pearl. I started getting them as a tween. Have around 30 or so. If I go into Epcot - I get one. :teeth:

My son (now 6) has collected the Disney Racers (Hotwheels sized cars shaped like characters) since our first trip when he was two. He also loves the toy buses with the current year on them.

My daughter (8) has been into something different each of our four trips. This year it was fairies, especially Tink.

I love filling a box of potato head parts and must have a magnet for the fridge.

My husband doesn't care about Disney souvies, but we spent one night at the Nick Hotel and he bought himself a bunch of SpongeBob stuff :rolleyes:

my "must haves" are disney pens and all different types of note paper (for my desk, the car, the kitchen, etc), and a postcard from our resort.

kitchen dish towels, kitchen utensils, throw blankets are other things I find useful and fun to have at home.

I live in a "tourist-trap" so I generally have an aversion to touristy-type dust-collector souvenirs. I like souvenirs that we will use regularly:-

  1. Beach towel - my sister thinks towels are lame, but we're a beach-going, surfing, competitive-swimming family so towels get used
  2. Christmas ornament or small nativity set - OK, I have to admit that I'm a "Christmas Junkie" so I try to collect a NICE Christmas ornament on each of my trips
  3. Mugs - regular or refillable. Between my tea habit and my DH's coffee habit, our mugs get used. Ditto for the refillable soda cups from Sea World, Busch Gardens - great useful souvenirs
  4. A baseball cap - I just buy a new one on each trip. I usually wear caps when I'm out exercising. The cap fetish is a throwback to my tomboy days!

* Mr Potato head parts (I have a decent size rubbermaid box full)
* A Charicature
* Silhouettes
* postcard with current year
* a couple pins that actually mean something to us

That's a wonderful idea.. taking a pic in the same spot every trip. I have so many pics of the kids with Mickey, and I was just showing them how much they have grownprincess:

ornaments and ears.....I also love to buy the photo that they take at Spirit of Aloha.....:)

For my son it's Legos

I always look for the really interesting rare things that I can take back home and people will say, "You bought THAT at Disney World?" My RNRC purse, POTC jewelry, etc. I like stuff that doesn't always have to be the usual "tourist" merchandise that I may not use at home. Something memorable, yet fashionable.

Ornaments for us too. But we have only been once...LOL. We were talking about getting some more though since we will be going right around christmas.

Ashtonsmom99 congrats on the wedding coming up. We will share an anniversary (thats our 6yr anniv).

Since we got engaged last year, I wanted to get an ornament to remember it by so that's a new tradition! :lmao:

I also must get:
-Mouse ears
-Minnie's Graham Cookies (love those!)
-Donald's Caramel Corn
-Something for the kitchen, doesn't matter what
-A paper flower from Mexico (because I was holding one when I got engaged :bride:)
-A pin from the resort I'm staying at
-A refillable mug

:goodvibes

My dd is 6 and we started a charm bracelet for her during her first trip at age 1. We always add a charm of the hotel we are staying at, as well as other characters that are significant to her at the time. Usually which ever character she had dressed up as for that halloween. She loves looking at her special disney bracelet and hearing about why she has each different charm. They sell them in all of the hotel gift shops and are inexpensive (under $5 each).

One of the best things we have ever done is when we went to Epcot for the first time as a family. We decided to go to each country and buy something that would remind us of that country when we got home. (We stayed in the resorts so we could take advantage of the item being shipped to our room.) Eight years later, we still have our Epcot shelf sitting in our family room showing off our international treasures. Some of our goodies include a baseball from the USA, an Eiffel tower from France, a tea cup from United Kingdom, and a beer stein from Germany.
