Hi there! I'm a newbie to this board but certainly not to Disney! I was raised in CA so I spent ALOT of time at Disneyland. Disneyworld however I've only been to once. So now my DH and I are taking ou 2 DD's (ages 2 and 8) plus DD's friend (also 8) AND my MIL to Disneyworld in Nov. We are planning to attempt to cram all of us into one room at the All star movie resort. I know I know, it's CRAZY!!!! But I figure since we're just sleeping there maybe we'll be ok?!
Anyway, my question before I get to much more off topic is, I've heard about purchasing this $12 mug and being able to refill it all week. So can I get one from the hotel and have it refilled anywhere in any park or only in my hotel food court?
I guess while I'm here anyone have any tips for taking kids on a week long disney vacation since I've never been with kids before??
Thanks in advance!

hi-
We are planning to purchase the mugs on our trip, too. From what I understand, they are only for your own hotel food court. Still sounds like a great deal, though!

I think the mug is a good deal.. we bought one and in the morning would fill it up on the way out of the hotel to the bus.. after the drink was gone and we were in the park, Id rinse it out and dry it out and just stick it in my backpack.. as soon as we were back at the hotel, I'd take it out of the backpack and fill it up on the way to the room.. then we'd have a drink in the room while getting ready for bed or on the way to the pool or whatever.. We definitely got our moneys worth out of the mug.. and by the way we still use them at home all the time.. :scared1: :mickeybar

You can use the mug at the resort you purchased it at for the time of your stay. It is good for Coffee and soda. So if you drink a lot of the stuff than it can be a good deal.
There are many threads on here ( as well as many debates) about the resort mugs. You will find all the information you will ever need about them on these threads. ;)

By the way, you can only have 4 people in a room at the value resorts.

So not to start a debate. . . but will they catch you if you have more than 4 people in a room? Also, I thought it was 4 and a child in a crib. My 2 year old will most likely be in a crib. And DD's friend's parents are still not positive that she will be able to go with us.

No debate. Her youngest will allow for 5 in the room. We had no problem with 3 adults and 2 children, with one a toddler, before the grands got too big and we got sent to POR! We never added the extra adult until we got there. Most times they didn't add the adult charge. Might be different with all the names on the cards now.

I'm confused. As of right now, MIL isin't on reservation or anything. Here's the thing. My dad is paying for our trip and MIL has decided to tag along because she will only have to pay for a hopper pass and her food. So does she have to have something so she can ride the buses to the parks and all? Like I said this is only my 2nd trip to WDW and the last time I went I was 13 so I can't really remember the little details.

Won't you have 5 in the room and the child in crib (2 years old)?
You, DH , two of your kids and friend and MIL
Am I missing something here? That's a lot of people isn't it?

Technically, you have to be a resort guest to use the buses and technically the drivers can ask to see your card. I haven't seen that happen and have no idea how often, if ever, it does.

Rules aside, 3 adults and 3 kids are going to be mighty close in a Value room, even with one in a travel crib. You can risk being caught, but is it worth spending your time wondering if mousekeeping is counting? There are rooms designed for more people at other resorts, but you could also consider connecting rooms at the Value resort. I know Pop has them, not sure about the others. With all those people, you might well be grateful in the end for the extra bathroom, beds, tv, etc....... :flower:
