(This is lillian513's son.) I bought my mom aka lillian513 a Disney piggy bank that lights up and plays music for our first trip to WDW or any Disney ever! So I bought it as a gift. The meaning of the gift was we loved the trip, we want to go back so here is the piggy bank to save up for it ( the next trip) lol.
So I had little money when I went down to WDW and I spend alot on the bank ($18.00 + tax) but for my mom and what she paid doesn't add up. But when it breaks its a big deal but anyway. We had it 2 months and saved $30.04 in it. Its kinda small but for 2 months and its size we put alot in it. So I emptyed it to store away the money in a box of other money we had saved. Then the next day I stick a quarter in and......NO LIGHTS.....JUST SOUND....! I am freaking out! So I don't know what to do I live all the way in Jersey and we are not planning to go back to WDW till the holidays '06. What do I do now? It worked before! Is there a number I can call or can I send for a new one or replacement? Plz help thanx.

can someone help post a pic plz lol
EDIT: Never mind it is the link below I hope it works

You are not likely to get a replacement (do you still have the reciept?). Disney likes to sell things but they are not so keen on replacing them.

Maybe the lights need a special battery of some kind?

Yes I have the reciept and I opened it up and nothing is broken and it looks like it uses the same battery but Thanx for the help anyways. I am still disappointed it broke man it stinks :(

I would call the number for Disney merchandise. It should be printed on the receipt. When we went a few years ago, an ornament broke on the way home. I called them to see if I could buy a new one, and they replaced it for free! It is worth a shot. It doesn't hurt to ask. HTH!

Thank so much now all I need to do is look for the reciept but I know I have it I hope I kinda know great well thanx and I will still accept more advice

Edit: I found a reciept and I don't see a number only a mail order number is that it?

My experience is the exact opposite. About 3 years ago, I bought my son a Buzz Lightyear gun that died about a week after we got home. One phone call to Disney Merchandise got it replaced. They did not even want the broken one back. I had a new one within a week. Find any receipt for anything you bought at WDW because the phone number you need to call is on it. You won't need the reciept for that bank.

maybe its me, but it's not clear whether or not you replaced the battery... :smooth:

I found a reciept. It says WDW mail order 407-363-6200 is that the number and a email I think it is wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com
I didn't replace a battery
When is it a good time to call the number tomorrow like maybe at noon?

Ps. Thanx for helping so much! :D

I have another suggestion - call up Disney and ask if you can return/exchange at the World of Disney store in New York City. World of Disney is still owned by the Disney and has all kinds of goodies from WDW there.

Not sure how close your location in Jersey is to NYC, but wanted to at least give you another option.

BTW - I've never had any problems with the folks at Disney World. I once ordered merch from them when I got home from the park and on one instance they had sent me the wrong item, when I called they said the correct item would be on it's way - I then asked if they needed me to return the item that was sent in error and they said no - keep it! :goodvibes

Good Luck!

Thats great about your thing but I live in south Jersey and I am 4 hours from NYC my family has never been there and I don't think my mom will drive up there no when school is starting and for this lol but I'll think it is good maybe I look in to it. But Thanx again I really do appreciate all the advice. Keeping reply I am not done lol.

That is the number. I would give them a call sometime in the morn. or afternoon. A lot of people call at noon, since it is lunch time. Good luck!

Thank you! you have been alot of help. Do you know the hours jk lol I want call maybe like 9:00am to 10:00am so time around there but thanx. I am 14 and my mom will be working will that matter and she gets home a 5:00pm waiting for her to get home will be killing me so can I call or does she have to? I bought it so I should call right?

Maybe if you have a cell phone with long distance service, or maybe a phone card? That would make the call cheaper. You say you didn't replace a battery, if you can, maybe you should try that first.

There 's probably a 90%, or more, chance that putting in a new battery will fix the problem........jmho :badpc: :confused3 :bounce:

If you need a replacement they are great at sending a new one. We went to Disney a few years ago and DD got a Cindy doll( like a barbie) and she held it all the time, well the dress started wearing out in the chest area, I called them and she had a new doll in less than 2 weeks.

I did open it up and it isn't the battery it uses the same battery so if it was the battery that was dead there would be not music but there is music and no lights so there should be both but there is one get it now?

And the battery could have enough "juice" to do the music, but not the lights...don't be so cheap...try a new battery...can't hurt :cool1:

yeah, lots of times if something takes a battery & it gets low, it starts to do weird things. Like part of it working, & part not. Try that! It'll be easier than messing with calling about a replacement probably.

Good luck! Hope it works!

PS That was sweet to buy something special for your Mom.

No its not that I am cheap. The music sounds perfect like nothing is wrong and there is not even alittle light at all (not even a flicker of light :guilty: ) I think its a defect in a wire or something but I will try to get four new batteries and try.

Edit: I use my rechargedable Energizer batteries and nothing not a change. They were charged. So are my batteries broken too?....JK...lol
