Southwest's EBCI Boarding Pass Questions

I'm flying Southwest in 2 weeks. We paid for the EBCI. I keep trying to read on the website, but I think I'm confusing myself.

I know it automatically reserves your boarding position for you 36 hours ahead of time, so I don't have to worry about checking in 24 hours ahead of time to get a good boarding postion. But what I don't understand is how I get my boarding pass. Do they email me my boarding passes when it assigns the boarding position, do I still "check-in" like regular to print the boarding passes (and if so, when? 36 hours or 24 hours or ??), or do I have to just check in at the airport to get the boarding passes?

Thanks!

Your position is reserved 36 hours prior but you can't access your boarding pass until 24 hours prior. No need to have to check-in at exactly the 24 hour mark. Works great. Been using it since inception and almost always have A40 or lower. Often lower than A30.

at 24 hours or less before your flight, go to the southwest website. look for the "Check in for flight" option - they don't have one just to view/print boarding passes. You'd need your confirmation number, and you're going to follow the steps just like you are checking in - even though it's been done for you. At the end, you will see and can print your boarding passes.

I know it's a little confusing, and I wish SW would allow us to at least see our boarding positions, even if we can't print out the board passes, between 24 and 36 hours out, but that's their system.

Hope that helps!

Just wanted to add, if you do not have access to a printer, you can also have it printed at the airport. We usually go to the self check-in kiosks and print them there.

You can get your BP's printed at any guest relations counter, resort concierge or at the baggage counter in the resort.

I usually get them printed when I check my bags before getting on the DME.
