Flight prices out of BWI are pretty high for our dates. I can book to fly from Dulles for about $300 cheaper. If I book the flights from Dulles, and if the BWI flight prices drop, can I rebook my tickets to fly out of a different airport without penalty?

Sure can. That's why I love flying SW. No change fees!

When are you going? We're going 8/26-9/2 and have been watching prices since flights were released. We haven't booked yet because we are planning on trying to get Free Dining promo when it's released, and we don't want to book flights in case we have to tweak our reservations to get the dining promo. Unfortunately we were waiting for credit card rewards too, and didn't get them for a couple weeks after the Southwest flights for that time were released. Southwest's prices have almost tripled since then. Otherwise we would have booked Southwest, then changed the dates if necessary since there are no change fees.

We'd also prefer to fly out of BWI (traveling from Delaware). Check out Reagan (DCA) and JetBlue too. Up until this weekend, when all of the sudden the prices have jumped, DCA -> MCO has actually been the cheapest. I'd looked at Dulles and Philly a while back, and DCA was best, but I'm going to look at Dulles again based on your post now.

Check out JetBlue - the downside is their change fees are pretty high (I think $70 per ticket). We flew them this past September from BWI to MCO with a 4-year-old and 2 1/2-year-old and we were happy with them.
