We are going to disney in april. initially our airfare was $100 each way. dropped to $44 each way. Everybody has a good size voucher now that has to be used by mid november.

with southwest can you use the voucher for anybody or does it have to be used by the person it was issued back to? in other words can we use our vouchers to apply towards the cost of tickets for other people that we may want to invite along?

It has to be applied to the person it was issued to. I was hoping to use my DH's credit along with my credit for my flight since he's not going this trip, but I couldn't.

Can only be used for the original person. The name must match exactly. One time I was using one and it did not have my middle initial and the new reservation I was making had it. It errored.

Hmmm. Ok. My in laws called and asked southwest and were given a different answer. it didnt sound right to me though.

no

price drops don't generate vouchers. Vouchers are issued by SWA for other reasons such as equipment delays, bumps, etc. Typically have a one year use by date and can be used by anybody (if you choose to assign them that way).

you have ticketless travel funds:

They will expire one year from the date of the original booking (not the flight date).

Can only be used by the person on the original reservation

caution as any $ combined with these funds to book another ticket will assume the expiration date of the original ticket's expiration date (see above).

I believe it's $100 per ticket. They can then be used by anyone. The problem is you have to wait until they actually expire.

any idea how long the current extension period covers?

It use to be $75 now it is $100. There are two types of funds. A travel fund is what you get when the price goes down and must be used by the same name that was on the ticket. Luv vouchers are given to you for flight delays that are SWA fault or if you volunteer to give up your seat on an oversold flight Luv funds can be used by anyone.

Both have expiration dates and can be extended for 6 months with a $100 fee per ticket

I completely understand. :) i'll have to consider, how much the voucher is worth, plus $75 to reactivate each. In my case, the voucher is $100 and then $75 to reactivate. Our flights to MCO are generally $69 - $89 each way. for us we may break even.

we got a credit back because our flights to LAX dropped down to $44 each way. at that price it would not make sense to reactivate
