My daughter who is in the Disney College Program has a Southwest Airline account. She has flown a few times to and from Florida to visit friends. We are driving a car to her in a few weeks and flying back. I haven't flown in a very, very long time. My daughter has a Southwest account and when I go the website on our home computer her account is still up.

Now my question.....can I make reservations for my husband and myself to fly back home under her account (giving her points) or does she need to be flying wth us? Should I make my own account? Not sure what to do, but I need to make reservation today since we are leaving in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks for your help!

The points are tied to the person that flies, even if she flies with you she will not get your points.

Just a note, this is true for all airlines. Only the person actually flying gets airline points.

BTW, buying an airline ticket two weeks before your travel date is going to cost you a lot more than if you had purchased a lot further in advance.

yes, create SWA rapid reward accounts for you & your husband.
Only the person traveling can earn points for their personal account.
BUT you can transfer points to another account (for a fee; not usually the best deal, but if you are short just a few thousand points it is worth it, imo)
AND you can book ANYONE's travel using your RR points--and they do not need to be traveling with you.
Yes, typically prices are higher w/in 2 weeks, but I find on occasion that SWA flights aren't always--was looking at a slightly less than 2 week window for a possible trip & the prices were the same as I had seen for a while. BUT they shot up the next day.

You can sign up for the family pooling option. It is my understanding that this doesn't cost anything.

You can transfer your points to her acct for a fee on SWA. Right now they have an offer that they will give the person you are transferring points to a bonus of 40% more points. So 100 points would be 140 points.
