Southwest Schedule Opening-Who's Awake and Pressing Refresh?

SW site was sooo frustrating this morning
I agree with you about the frustration! The new schedule kept coming up and then going away again. I had two browsers going and at one point I could see the new schedule in one browser but not in the other no matter how many times I refreshed! And after all of that, the prices weren't as good as I had hoped. I'm seeing the same prices now that came up at 6:15am so I didn't save anything by being online by 6am.

I got on when I got to work at 7 (before people squawk about using work time, I don't HAVE to be at work until 7:30) and got tickets for the 4 of us for $435, one way. I paid $440 one way going down. Again, we come home April 10, which is the first day they opened today. This is from MCO to DTW.
So total for 4 of us is $875. My goal is always $200 each, but I haven't ever done this well for spring break time.
A lot of flights on our day were more expensive--only the last two flights of the day were $89 plus fees. So we leave at 6:20, which means ME time of 3:15, so almost another 1/2 day at the parks.
Since there are no bag fees I coughed up the $40 each way for EB check-in too.
So we now have flights and hotel....we leave 6 months from today, so I have to figure out if we are doing DDP and where we are eating if we do!

I just booked my flights out of hartford for the first time after reading all the posts here about it being cheaper. We usually fly out of PVD. But there weren't any flights left today for "wanna get away" so I'd be paying over $300 one way. That is just INSANE.
So I got $99 down. and $156 home.
Thanks everybody!!!
How's that airport? I have only used PVD and so use to it kinda nervous about going somewhere new.

BDL is small like PVD, I thought.

We parked off airport and got a shuttle in to the terminal. We used Fast Track parking and liked it. Only issue I had was I had prepaid online and handed my printed copy of receipt when we parked. Well, they asked for proof I had paid when we got back. Being a diser I of course had another copy of my receipt. We are vacation anal after all. But wonder what would have happened had I not had it?

It seemed like someone put an airport in the middle of a rural area.

I took rt495 to masspike and followed my iPhone's gps from there.

It was painless.

I have never flown out of PVD, but find BDL small and very managable

:) No problem.

It was a 3 1/2 hour drive from where we live (way down) on Cape Cod, not including stops for caffeine and bathroom.

This past April, we had a 6 am flight and left Cape Cod at 11 PM the night before 'cause I was nervous-new airport for us-so I can relate.

We got to Fast Track Economy parking lot in pouring rain, thunder and lightening at 3:30 am. Luckily they have a 'gas station' like overhang where the shuttle picks you up and there's park benches and an office with a bathroom. (No matter how many times you stop along the way....:rolleyes1)

So I was the only one that got wet when I parked the car further into the lot but had an umbrella in my purse. When I got back to the overhang, the shuttle was there, the driver and my kids had loaded the luggage and my kids were sitting in the shuttle waiting.

We got to the Southwest terminal before 4 am and here's the kicker, they didn't open the Southwest terminal until like 5 am to 5:30 am!! We were first in line and first to go thru security.

This time we have the 6:30 ish am flight, but I plan on doing the same routine as last time was on a Wednesday and this time it's Friday the 13th!!:scared1:

Especially since I know all my diser friends are 'show up' early people too. :grouphug: and it seems like we're all flyhing together

P.S. Pick up breakfast BEFORE you park (excluding drinks, of course) as the BDL Dunkin Donuts and other breakfast places opened after the terminal and quickly were a madhouse.

Thanks again for your help!!
We are actually flying out late Sat. I think it's 5:30pm so it will be easier to get there. We usually fly out Sun. am but there was one $99 left for Sat. and none for Sun. so I snagged it. My DH looked up how far it was from us it should take about 2 hrs. not too bad. Worth the ton of $$$ I'm saving. I looked on SW today and the last $99 flight is gone for that day.
I'm sure we'll be fine, just love PVD- so easy and convenient ya know? Have a great trip!!! I can't believe I need to make ADRs next week!! We just came home late August! It feels so weird.:woohoo:
