Southwest schedule open through Nov 1st

Did anybody else get some worrying error messages prior to the window opening? It was alternating between "schedule not open yet for your dates" and "Southwest is discontinuing service from MHT to MCO on 9/27/13". That second one made me go :scared1:

I was so glad when the schedule finally came up and saw that yes, you can still get there from here!

Yes! Had a mini freak out and almost posted on here, but didn't want to look like Henny Penny in case I was wrong :) When I checked every airport within 3 hours of us and got the same message I knew it couldn't be right!

I got the same message when trying to book from ISP to MCO on 10/30.........was sooo glad when the date finally came up and was able to book our flight down for $92

I did the same thing! I checked flights between some of their major hubs and saw the same error message and figured it had to be a mistake. It was strange that each time I tried to check for flights, sometimes it showed one error message and sometimes the other. Computers are usually more predictable than that. Normally the same input leads to the same output.

After that bit of drama I got some decent fares so I'm happy!

thank you SO much for posting this..I was able to at least book our flight down. Hmmm maybe I should forget to book coming back home?:lmao::lmao:
Just checked Southwest yesterday so I probably wouldn't have gone back on site until later this month. Non stops are getting harder to book.

I am not at all excited about the schedule out of BDL :( The September schedule and prices were so much better.

Edited: Ok, I looked at some alternative dates and found decent times/fares going mid week....hoping DH says I can book it!!!!

didn't get that message but was having horrible time using existing credits in combination with SWA rapid rewards card:headache: kept getting error messages as to payments not matching flight total. :confused3Finally gave up, signed out of my account and back in and it worked eeeek kept thinking the prices would go up in the interim lol

how's everybody feel about the prices they're seeing today?

from PIT i paid $320 RT pp

checked my notes;):

$75 more pp than same week last year

$100 more pp than trip in june (even after deducting the $40 pp credit i have)

hoping to see price drop for Oct's trip but never did find a lower price after booking last year.

Keisha - totally agree! Prices are much higher than we have had before. 188 - 200+ ...really hoping they come down. Does that usually happen?

I was able to get $127 one way from Baltimore to MCO late October. GREAT rate for us especially non stop. I have noticed that my airfare for April has increase by 150 dollars though..was hoping that would come down a bit to get a credit.
Does anyone know when they will start to book Nov 2nd? (our departure day). Seems they only opened up a short amount of time to book.

When they opened the schedule this morning they also updated the announcement on the Travel Tools page. On May 6 they will open the schedule through December 19th. Those dates are always subject to change so keep an eye on their Travel Tools page.

That is great. We are flying out December 5th. I have to wait another month.

depends on 'when' and 'where' you are flying

we go the same time week prior to columbus day in october and airfare/rental cars have creeped up for that week over the years, supply and demand i assume.

i have friends who fly into MCO relatively same dates from larger airports (with more options/competition to keep things on an even keel) and they crow about their fares compared to mine:rolleyes1

I am a little nervous about booking 1 way flights (just because I have never done it before and it's hard to teach an old girl new tricks lol).

Might work out to my benefit though to wait until they open the return flights on May 6th. My anniversary points from my SW card might be in my account then (which will probably be enough to get me the return flights home "free" as well):cool1:

I booked our flight down a few weeks back ,flying out of Buffalo nonstop for september 26th paid 100 each, this morning I booked our return flight 136 each nonstop on October 4th. When I first checked today that same flight was 186, I then went to jetblue to see the fare with them and then went back to the southwest website and the fare had gone down by 50 dollars so went ahead and booked it. Made a big difference as I was paying for 7 people, so am happy for that and the fact I didnt have to book with airtran got the flight with southwest, 2 free bags help alot when my sil is travelling with 2 babies in tow.:thumbsup2

I booked our F&W trip this morning. For us the prices were slightly better than last year although I was surprised at that. Last year though we had a free flight so we will pay more this year. However with the credits that we did have we paid $400 round trip for 2 people. I was quite happy with that price. I will say that the schedule isn't that great....which was the same last year. The first non-stop flight out doesn't depart until 11 am. Would prefer to be at the resort earlier, but oh well.

I just booked our round trip flights from Louisville to Orlando Oct 5th through 13th. It will be our first time flying SW and I have a few questions:
1) By booking on the first day available and paying for EBCI today as well, does that guarantee us boarding assignments in the high A's?
2) It's my understanding that if the fares for our flights go down, we will be able to apply those savings to our existing reservations. Is this something we check back on ourselves, or does Southwest alert us to discounts?

Interested in these answers as well. I didn't realize we could get a credit if the price went down...that's great. We are looking at Columbus Day weekend (10th to 16th) so I think $199rt out of Hartford is a great fare. I have been able to get under $200 for all of our trips, but it can easily go $250-300 easily. We used to be able to get $160ish but those fares are rare these days.
