So, it looks like the next batch of dates Southwest opens up will cover our flights TO Orlando, but not the tail end. Should I go ahead and book the trip there as OW tickets and then purchase the trip back when our return dates open or just wait until I can book RT? Thanks!

I had the same situation for our trip in Sept. I booked one way tickets because the price was right. Good luck.

I learned that the best thing to do was only book OW, mainly because when the flights lower in price, it is much easier to change one leg at a time. For instance: Our upcoming trip 9/30 - 10/6, our 9/30 flight has gone down twice, providing me with credit towards future travel. Our 10/6 return has only gone up in price.

Since there's no discount to booking a RT I would go ahead and get what you can. I've seen the prices on SW double in just a few weeks before so if the price is right, go ahead and book it!

I wish they would hurry up and release April already. I hate not having that part of our trip set.

I know!!! I just want to have it all set! Well, that and get some kind of discount as well ;)

You may want to also look at Airtran or someone else for the return trip. I did this once....booked OW because they only opened dates for the start of my trip. By the time they opened the rest of the dates we found Airtran to be a better price with a better time, so we returned on Airtran.

I recently booked one-way for our Oct Disney cruise, then a week later the rates dropped for the return, so I booked that with the early-bird check-in so I don't have to deal with expensive Internet on the ship to secure a decent boarding number.
