Hi,

We have have flown SW before so I know a little about the A/B/C assignment and boarding procedure. However, this upcoming trip is the first time that we have a flight where we have to change planes on the way home from MCO. How does this work? Do I just check-in one time and get an A B or C assignment for the flight from MCO and also another assignment from the connecting airport or do I have to check in twice to get two assignments?

If I do the early bird, does it cover the entire trip back (both airplanes) or do I have to puchase two early birds for the flight home?

Thanks for your help!

You will be checked in for each leg when you first checkin. You do not have to checkin for that second leg at the 24 hr window before it's departure time.
I would imagine that if you buy EBCI, it's good for the entire trip. After all, it's one reservation. It's not as if you booked each leg on it's own!

Definitely contact SW regarding it though. I think I read somewhere that EBCI has to be purchased for each leg of the flight which could possibly mean at the layover as well. Not saying that is the case. Just suggesting you ask the airline to be certain.

Absolutely not- one EBCI must be purchased each way not for each connecting flight.
