MY husband is in the AF and was just told he has to do boarder patrol near NM for 3 weeks. He has military orders. We booked 3 tickets on SW and now have to cancel our trip. Does anyone know if SW will give me credit for a future flight, or will I be able to get a refund due to the circumstances? I have never delt with SW before, so I dont know their policy on this. I know other airlines I have flown have given a refund for all the tickets purchased when this happened before.

if you cancel for sure you will get ticketless credit that will have to be used within a year....no cancellation fees....so you will have your total amount to be applied later

only way you might have got a total refund was if you had purchased "fully refundable" tickets .....which most do not...we all seem to wait for sales

of course, you could try to plead your case with Southwest by calling....

everyone's mileage seems to vary when they call

SWA tends to be very military-friendly. (They give special discounts to personnel traveling on leave.) I think that if you call them and are willing to present proof of the situation, they may well give you a refund.)
