The flight from Orlando to Midway is 1000 points more expensive than a flight that is actually booked Orlando to Indianapolis but stops in Midway. What I am saying is that I could save 1000 points per person by booking to Indy but not taking the last leg of the flight. Is there any problems doing this so long as I do not check any luggage?

If you don't take the flight that is considered a no show and they can charge you for that as you took up seats they could have sold to someone else.

and more than just being charge I believe your Midway boarding passes would not be valid. You would want to confirm with SW.

This is incorrect and the above poster's advice is wrong as well. OP wants to take a flight home which goes from Orlando to Indianapolis with a stop at Midway. She/he wants to just get off the plane at Midway. There aren't any Midway boarding passes.

OP - If you get off at Midway on your return flight and don't fly the last leg, nothing will happen. Just make sure that you don't check any luggage, because it will continue on to Indianapolis!

You will, though (if you care), throw off the head count on the continuing flight and likely delay its departure.

Personally, I would call SW just to be sure. You don't have to give your name just give your scenario. That way you will know for sure what will happen.

Although I think you could do it, there are some risks:

- If there is not room for your carry-on, they might insist that you gate check your luggage to the final destination...in this case Indy.

- What if your flight gets cancelled or you get bumped...they would probably route you to Indy, and it might not stop at MDW.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

This is called "Hidden City Ticketing" and is NOT PROHIBITED on Southwest. In SWA's Contract of Carriage they used to specifically allow Hidden City Ticketing but their current COC, Hidden City is not mentioned (and not forbidden). All other domestic carriers directly state that Hidden City is forbidden and could punish you in a couple of ways.

The only issue as the OP mentioned was baggage and if none is checked you will be OK.

But what about getting on the flight from Midway to MCO? Won't the OP need a boarding pass?

The OP is speaking only about the return flight, from Orlando to Indianapolis, with a stop at Midway. He/she will get off the plane when it stops at Midway. There will be no issue with boarding passes.
