Southwest works with them as far as you can use ME. But they do not have resort check in, for your luggage at the end of your stay. You can go to conceirge and have them check you in and print out your boarding passes 24 hours prior. This is available at all the hotels.
Not much of a hassle IMO. Bell Services will bring your bags to the bus, the bus driver will load them and then unload them at the airport. There are always bag guys waiting there to help you get your bags to the baggage check in at the airport.
so if we are going in may for the 5th through the 13th, should i buy our tickets for the 5th now and the 13th when they come out, or wait till the 13th comes out and buy both dates at once? there is a good price on the 5th now, is there any drawback to doing it this way?
If you get a good price for the 5th now - book it and wait for your flight home.
I have done this every time we have flown Southwest and it has worked out fine.
I always pick a price I am happy paying - book it and if the price comes down or I get a DING then I have a credit. And when they release the next flight I need to come home at a price i am happy with - I use the credit!
Due to DINGS, I always book our flights one way. That way, if a DING comes out for your flight down, but not the flight home, then you can at least get credit for part of it. If you have it booked round trip, you can't do anything.
It's so funny that there is so much specuation on the SW fares. I don't fly much so I wasn't aware of the waiting game we play. Last week- Thursday evening- I called SW directly hoping to get a hint. The SW agent said that there had been some disturbance on the site and computers. He was hoping that new fares were coming out. He said they are usually released on Thursdays but that it could be any day so keep on checking. I'm guessing it's a marketing strategy and I guess it's working because we're all talking about it!
Can someone answer this? The discussions about SW not "participating" in DME is all about the Resort Air Check-in, right? I can count on DME for transport to and from the airport to our hotel, right? Southwest does "participate" with that, right? Thanks in advance.
I read today that Bill Owen posted on the Southwest Blog that it should be for around 95 days of booking which would go to around August 13th. We shall see.
