Southwest pricing around Thanksgiving?

Hi we are currently planning our next trip. Right no we're looking into November14-21. Crowds are low and free dining has been offered in the past that week. BUT i'm afraid that our flight home on the 21st would be expensive because it's 3 days before Thanksgiving. Has anyone ever flown around then and what did you get for prices. I will be able to purchase the airfare in late september.

We went for a long weekend right before this past Thanksgiving, flew down Thursday night, flew back home on the Monday before Thanksgiving. Airfare was just slightly higher than what we had paid over the summer for the same flilghts. It ended up being about $100 per person each way after all the fees (didn't purchase EBCI) and the Monday flight home was not much more than the flight down the week before.

I'd be more worried about the overall increase in fares for all flights than about prices for a flight a few days before Thanksgiving.

Oh great thanks! Well of course i'm worried about the overall increase but there's nothing I can do about that. If airare was really high around Thanksgiving we were just going to move our trip ahead by a week to avoid that.

We flew to Orlando last year on the Tuesday (11/23) before Thanksgiving and returned on the Sunday (11/28) after on SW and airfare $350 per person! If I remember correctly the flight down on the 11/23 was the cheaper leg of the trip and the return flight on (11/28) was more costly. So I think that with your dates you should be able to find something decent. Not sure if that was helpul or not. Good luck.

That is correct; I fly out of BWI on the Saturday after Thanksgiving; I used to fly Sunday.

Sunday after Thanksgiving was always much more expensive than Saturday is now for me.

And I get to fly out later on Saturday, because I don't have to worry about getting up early to go to work the next day.

In addition, at BWI, if the extended stay parking lot is full, they will allow you to park in the garage for the same price all week. It is not usually full, but it is pretty close to full, since most people don't come back until Sunday morning after Thanksgiving.
