Southwest Pre-Boarding

I'm not certain but the OP may have a different situation then wheelchair users. From thier decription of the problem I'm thinking that they may have a disability that is not mobility involved. I'm not sure how SWA would handle that.
All you have to do to get a pre-board pass is ask. MY parents both have mobility issues (mom has RA, dad has a bad back that affects his legs and makes walking difficult) but neither of them use assistance devices, so it's not obvious. All they have to do is ask for pre-boarding and they give them the slip.

Sometimes they ask why they need them, but it's not a problem.

I'm sure if you explain your situation, there definitely won't be a problem!

My dad walks with a cane....very slowly so I always get him a wheelchair at the airport. I always go to push him but the attendant tells me that is "his job"!! We have never recieved a blue thing with our boarding passes with SW. My dad always argues that he can walk onto the plane and SW argues back that they will push him...lol Wheelchairs always go first and then the elderly, then special needs children, then families with young children. The only airport that I have seen not do this is MCO. I have also seen airports stop those in airport wheelchairs (being pushed by a family member/friend, not an attendant) that have a brace on (not meaning AFO's) with a group with them.....you know the ones who try to beat the system!!

I forget where I was going, but a few years ago a SkyCap wheeled an elderly woman to the gate area. Her husband walked alongside, and since there were no seats available where the wheelchair was, he sat next to her in an empty wheelchair. When it came time to board, TWO SkyCaps showed up and started pushing both chairs! The gentleman tried insisting he could walk, but they insisted on wheeling him down the jetway.

Just wanted to say SW out of Manchester rules, great airport and I love SW.
They are very easy to deal with. Have a great trip!
