Does anyone know when Southwest Airlines and/or Jet Blue rates will come out for the fall? I believe Southwest is booking now through early August. TIA.

It took SW, a few months to go from Mid Aug until the end of Oct. I'd been watching it to book tickets for Las Vegas.

I would guess it will probably be a couple of more months (say mid May?) before the release the balance of year, but that's just my guess.

Southwest is now booking thru October 30, now when will they book December?
From SW's website:
Now accepting reservations through October 30, 2010.
On June 10, we will open our schedule for sale through January 7, 2011. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

I am shocked at Southwest's prices to MCO out of Providence, Manchester and Hartford. Nothing under $139 plus tax each way. I even looked at some last minute flights over the next few weeks (and months) and there is nothing for the entire year under $139, except out of Boston- but you have to change planes and the rates are practically the same as a direct flight on Jet Blue.

About 2 weeks ago I booked two n/s tickets on Jet Blue out of Boston for Sept, was $219 per person with taxes, one free bag and I get a seat assignment. As soon as Southwest released the flights I ran the numbers to see how I did... it was $299, two free bags, but of course no seat assignment. I was planning on Southwest for my Dec flight, but I am now watching for Jet Blue to release the Dec dates. I was looking forward to not having to pay for another pair of tickets until June, but I guess that won't be the case if I can get $220 or lower!

Blah. One way $109 from Louisville, KY. Last year, I got two adult round trips from Philly to Orlando for $212. That's ridonculous.

Going in fall, southwest shows $89 each way out of buffalo, I did not think that is bad at all. We never book until probably 6 to 8 weeks before leaving. 95% of the time it is non stop, and I don't think I ever paid more that $200 round trip per person. Have previously got as low as 135 round trip per person. Last year was 158

Darn! Checked Southwest Flights yesterday and they were $88.00 out of BWI. Of course, I didn't book right away and now they're $109.00. :headache: Now I don't know if I should I book them now or wait and see if they drop again. Any suggestions?

By booking Southwest our family will save the $25/person bag fee each way. There are 4 of us, so we'd be saving $200! Consider that when booking.

I never really thought about that, we have almost always flown SW. They just have direct flights to most places we go, But I will definitely keep that in mind.

I did the same thing yesterday, I was going to book @ $79 both ways, but I was caught up in finding out what was going on with our credit, that they day got away from me. I checked today, and now they are $109 each way. I can't believe they jumped in 2 days. I guess, that's what I get for procrastinating. Now I am playing the waiting game.
I am crossing all my fingers and toes they lower ina few days.

My son checked yesterday and is kicking himself for not booking then. The fare went up $20 as of today. He booked one-way today and will wait for the next dates to open to book his return flight. The cost of a barrel of oil is on the rise so fares may start to go up especially over the summer months.

I was thinking the samd thing.79 yesterday and 109 today. I hope this won't stay that way. My sister said to keep checking. Supposedly they go up and down quite a bit. If it doesn't, to a car goa and driving down instead.

I've been checking SW everyday since they released dates for October. The cheapest I could find was $179 one way from Oakland, CA to Orlando. I'm hoping they drop soon, if I could book the flights we need for between $200 - $250 each I'd be :cool1::banana:

I've signed up for DING and their newsletter in hopes that I see a sale and can jump on it quickly.

Good luck to everyone!

Rates always go up on the weekend. I'm pretty sure we'll see the SW rates drop again. I never buy tickets over the weekends. Most drop Wed/Thur (sometimes late Tuesday nights). Just wait for the next SW sale. They've cut out all of the non-stops on SW out of Dulles during this recent release, so no more SW flights for us unless the schedule changes again. We are happy with Jetblue -- paying $59 each way for our Sep. 2-Oct 5 trip, plus assigned seating and free bag (non-stop also).

EGGGGzackly...that's why we fly Jetblue..more legroom, direct flights and direct tv...wider seats....free bags. Jet blue for us. And we've already booked our Oct flights so the rates are up for JB now.

I hope they go back down ares were 89. each way and we need four but the flight time was horrible for us. 6:35 am we barley make a noon hour flight and we need to leave at 8 am. 2 am to get there for 6 is horrible so I didn't book it. Now it is 109 each way but I still don't like the time. jet blue was 144 but the times was better.

We are also going to Disney Sept and Dec. I booked our tickets on Jet Blue and then the price dropped and we got $100 credit. We got flying down on the 5th for $89 and coming home on the 12th was $104.

We are going in Nov/Dec so I contacted Jetblue to see when that schedule will be available. They said they generally add flights about 6 months out to try and minimize flight changes to customers. I can't wait til they update.. so far no airlines have ANY direct flights for us and I'm hoping Jetblue will!
